Bought this guitar thinking it would be a good one to start my son on, as well as a kick around guitar for travels, etc. It's been much more than that! I have several acoustic guitars in my collection and have access to others (friend/neighbor) that I can play at any time, including a few of my favorite Deans, but I keep coming back to this one!! It has sort of become my unofficial favorite to play. Its not as pretty as some of my others, and although its not quite as bright (in tone) as my Deans are, its got a great range and I love the low end! Very warm tone!!! For the price its unbelievable. Of course, like me, you should probably expect a kick around guitar at your doorstep when you order so you'll be pleasantly surprised, instead of expecting a flawless guitar and letting your self down. I highly recommend it for the money.

After doing heavy research on a cheap acoustic to give my cousin as a gift, I went with the Rogue Herringbone (based on the great reviews and reasonable price). When the guitar arrived it looked very nice, but the sound was not very good. It sounded very chimey/metalic/harsh. I had to send it back (based on the sound)& wound up spending a little more for a blemished Washburn D10 that sounded 1000 times better. Had I received the Rogue as a 1st guitar...I probably would have given up playing. If you are starting out, Ibenez, Washburn, and Yamaha both make inexpensive and great sounding guitars.

rogue D size herringbone

I have had eight Martin guitars in the last five years. I got this guitar as an outdoor beater. I just can't believe you can get a guitar of this quality for this price. The nack is pieced together (not one piece) and the tuning keys are not so hot, but WOW !!! It's great.

Nice Guitar 4-the money

This is a sweet sounding guitar for the money I spent. It has good action, and plays well, even with my limited capabilities. Not a professional musician, just like to play, and this one fits the bill.

Had to comment!!

Well I got this guitar 6 months ago. I sell used and vintage guitars so I get to play all differant types. I thought what the heck sounds like nice construction and hey the price. WOW I have been amazed. It looks like a dead ringer for a Martin D-28 and has many of the same consruction features. It just gets better every month. Put on some good strings and fall in love. I will be buying the AE cut out next. I sell the rest I keep These.

Great Guitar

This is an excellent guitar regardless of your skill level. Construction is well done, workmanship was good, the finish was flawless, and the tone is deep and full. I bought this as a Christmas present for a relative, and ended up playing it extensively for a week while I debated whether to keep it for myself. This was the 5th Rogue instrument I've purchased in the past 2 years, and they all have been well-made guitars that represented excellent value.

Great everything for the price

By ~LoneEagle~

I'm giving this guitar 10 stars on everything FOR IT'S PRICE. Now I know there's like way better guitars out there I'm sure. But I've played a lot of guitars in the hundred to two-hundred dollar range, and even some in the 400 dollar range, that just don't sound as good as this guitar. I was like WAY satisfied with this baby, and still am. It's been everywhere with me. I've brought it on the bus with me and played to pass the time in the terminals...all the way through New Orleans, Jackson and and Memphis and everything...By the time I got to my destination it was still perfectly tuned, so it holds it's tuning very well. Excellent craftsmenship and the whole deal...great guitar!

Great for the value

I've played a lot of guitars, own a LOT of guitars, and this guitar is pretty damn good. It's not as good as a martin, but hey, it's cheap and it's not bad. If you are a casual musician you should buy this guitar, why waste all that cash on a super expensive guitar you won't really get any value out of? Save up, play this guitar instead, you won't regret it.

The reviews are right on

By Tanner-unlp.

I bought this guitar based on the reviews and they are dead on. This guitar is the best one you can find in this price range. Perfect for practice, travel or a first guitar. This guitar stays in tune for a long time, was intonated good when I got it, it's loud, and has a nice steel sound to it.

pretty good guitar

By lsubslimed

from Seattle, WA

For the price this guitar has a nice crisp sound. Looks are nice, but I really don't care too much for the pickguard. Pretty much the only thing wrong with it is that the G string buzzes slightly, and a little glue showing here the fretboard sits on the spruce top. Other than that, this guitar is pretty good.
