I wanted an inexpensive acoustic-electric to haul around because I did not want to have to worry about theft or damage to my Martin. I bought this Rogue, site unseen, with somewhat low expectations - after all what can you get for a hundred bucks? When I opened the box I was pleasantly surprised! First of all, it is an attractive guitar. Secondly, the sound and playability far exceeded my expectations. All I had to do was tune the guitar, install the battery for the electronics, plug it in and play - no other setup adjustments were necessary. It has nice action for playability and the Fishman electronics settings are very flexible. If you are looking for an inexpensive guitar, this is a wonder.
i own this guitar i'm planning to buy another one because of the price, i think there is no another guitar at this price with that sound, the only thing is that you need work a little extre with your finger because the strings are to heavy
This guitar is well constructed of quality parts and is pleasing to the eye. When played, it is very pleasing to the ear. Value, quality and electric's all rolled into one. It's a good deal.3maples
Just got this guitar yesterday and couldn't put it down. I like the tone and feel of it. Plugged it up to my mixer to test drive the electronics and I must say that I was very pleased. There is the slight deal with the end-pin having a little static when moved around to much...but not much with the one I got. I have played Martin, Taylor, Washburn, and owned a Gibson acoustic. For the price Rogue has it going on.
At this price, you get a lot of instrument for the buck. Right out of the box, it is quite playable and, with a little tweaking (which every new instrument needs), this little gem will serve the average picker very well indeed. The finish is unblemished, the sound surprisingliy full for so small a box, and the electronics up to par. I replaced my Takamine Jasmine with this axe. Better grab one before they're gone!
i just got it delivered today. right out of the box, i took the strings off, scrubbed all the factory grime off the neck, put some elixir strings on it, and as for the end jack, all you need is a planet waves instrument cable (springs on the side to hold the cable in). GREAT GUITAR!!
I purchsed this guitar for my son and he loves it. I really do not know much about guitars but he does. He has other guitars and he says this is a great guitar for the price. The only problem is the end jack. It crackles and pops allot and the problem with replacing it is I cannot find one. It doubles as the strap holder. If anyone knows where I can find one let me know. After reading the other reviews it seems this is a common problem with this guitar.
Don't let the price fool you. This is a very well made and good quality guitar. Finish is beautiful. Sound is outrageous, and the price speaks for itself. this guitar looks like a replica of the martin 000-28EC guitar. It's made of the same wood and looks like the mate. the only difference is it has a Fishman Classic 4 pickup/preamp that practically pays for itself. The only complaint I have is that the end pin jack sounds like there is a short in it. I have looked at it and it can be replaced with any end pin jack with three screw holes. Sounds great plugged or unplugged. this is a great guitar. BUY IT!
I wanted a practice guitar to bang on during my lunch hour. When I opened the box, I had to double check as I thought they sent me a more expensive guitar by mistake. This thing is nice with good quality and solid spruce top. Un-amplified the sound is adequate, but a little shallower than my Washburn Dreadnought. I don?t have an amp so I took it to a local store to make sure the Fishman preamp worked. The clerks could not believe the sound coming from this guitar. With a good amp this guitar can easily be played in any local club. The action is much better than you would expect on an inexpensive guitar. The only drawbacks are the frets were dirty and needed cleaning and the end-pin amp jack makes poor connection. Go to Radio shack and get some tuner cleaner, spray it on a Q-tip and clean the inside of the jack. Your connection problems will go away. Simply put, I could not be happier with this guitar. It?s not a Martin or Taylor, but I defy you to find a better guitar at this price! My only problem is, I still need a cheap practice guitar to bang on during my lunch hour because this guitar is too nice to abuse.
This is a surprisingly well-made guitar with good sound and surprising sustain. I first wanted it as a practice, haul anywhere piece but now I'm using it a small clubs where the bump and run crowd had me worrying about my Taylor. This is a finely made instrument. Don't let the price fool you. Now I want the Rogue Herringbone 12 string to match!!
