OVERVIEW

A very affordable guitar with great looks, expanded tonality, and playability

The Rogue Rocketeer RR200 combines the features of Rogue RR100 guitar with a basswood body for excellent tone and sustain. It is based on a classic design and was built for ease of playability. A sunburst finish and pearloid pickguard offer custom-good looks. The ultrathin, comfortable bolt-on maple neck makes it easy to riff up and down the 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with ease. The humbucker/dual single-coil pickup configuration with a 5-way switch puts an incredible array of tones at your fingertips and the addition of a coil-splitting via a push/pull pot offers up even more tonal options. A 6-screw vintage tremolo lets you have tons of whammy bar fun, while the die-cast tuners make sure you are in tune every time.

Guitar case sold separately.

Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

Well,I have had this guitar for several years',now. It put light-gauge strings' (.09)slinkys',on it.I lowered the action and udjusted the intonation.Frets' are not bad,on the guitar that I got.I have seen a lot worse,on more exspensive guitars'!My other guitar,is an Epiphone G-400 and I also love that guitar! This guitar lets' me get the single coil sound,at a small price and I can play lead a bit easier,on this small-scale neck! The body is heavy and has fairly good resonance. The pots' and pick-ups' can scream, with the right amplification. This is not a high-end guitar, but with that said,it can be made playable.I have been playing for some years' and I understand why someone would discount this guitar, who has played a strat, but If you can play a guitar, this will do the job,for a small amount of money!I run this through a Zoom G1Xon and headphones' and it sounds' awesome, through this set-up.Doesn't drive the neighbors' crazy and I'm hearing a concert!Haha!I am very happy with this guitar.Gets' me the sounds' I want, for cheap!

I was looking for a budget humbucker equipped guitar to alternate w/ my Squier Strat, after trying a few of the usual suspects ( Gibsonish Epiphones, Tursers etc.) I decided that the Yamaha Pacifica type might be a better choice (longer scale, coil tap etc.), I saw this on sale and figured it would be a joke, but found it had some nice features. The styling is reminiscent of the pricey Patrick Eggle New York series from the '90s; in fact its almost a dead ringer for the "Liberty" w/ less expensive hardware. As others have mentioned the neck is very comfortable w/ a nice full feel in adult hands. The tuners are serviceable and much better than the "covered" tuners so often found at this price point, as they are standard size sealed units they are easily upgraded. The bridge is the standard S type import and works well for mild bends and warbles. Mine was even set up to float, w/ the little trick of easing off the interior screws, to replicate a two point term already done. The nut and string trees will need lubrication,& the fret ends will need a dress but it plays well out of the box. I will oil the fret board at the first string change as it seems dry, but nothing serious. The pickups are a bit noisy compared to entry level Fenders, but sound good, the "in between" quack is impressive, and the tone control has usable range which is rare at this price point. The Humbucker is VERY hot and you will need to roll of the volume to balance w/ the sc's but it sounds very good on it's own, pull the coil tap and you can cop some p-90 ish tones. The neck PU does a nice jazz box impression w/ the tone control rolled off; all in all a decent set that doesn't scream for immediate replacement. Finish is attractive (the pearloid PG is a nice touch) w/ a light satin on the neck, application is standard for this price point w/ a bit of ripple on close inspection, but nothing major. At the end of day you will be hard pressed to beat this for the money.

Comments about Rogue Rocketeer Deluxe Electric guitar:

Unpackaged this piece as soon as it arrived and noticed something incredibly wrong with the neck. The strings were touching flat against the frets from 1-5; the entire neck was sloped downward in relation to the body of the guitar.

Took it to my local shop and they performed the following:

    Loosened the truss bolt
Tightened all tuning pegs; they were all loose enough to just about pull out
New strings; two strings broke almost immediately after putting tension on them for tuning
Adjusted all bridge bolts and hex screws
Shaved burs off edges of each fret

Thankfully I knew the shop keeper and he repaired/adjusted the unit for under 30. The guitar sounds fine now with the occasional buzz near lower frets.

If you're looking to purchase a cheap guitar, expect to pay to have it adjusted entirely if you're unable to adjust it yourself.

Great for a black friday deal

Comments about Rogue Rocketeer Deluxe Electric guitar:

Of the 2 that I bought on black fridsy, one had a huge paint buildup at the body edge where the tremelo springs run over. Took it apart and filed down the problem, and I dident hear the springs moving anymore.

I also did not like how it kept going out of tune with just 3 tremelo springs, so I added a 4th one, and also lowered the string height some.

Comments about Rogue Rocketeer Deluxe Electric guitar:

First comment--the guitar is NOT as pictured. The jack for the guitar cord is on the side, not on the top as pictured. This was not a big deal, as all my other guitars, except for my Strat, have side mounted jacks.

The guitar looks beautiful. Color (orange sunburst) and finish make this guitar look great.

I knew a guitar priced this low would have some problems out of the box, but I knew they would be addressable. The setup was bad; the string height was too high. I took the Allen wrench supplied with the guitar to the truss rod, and after a few minutes of playing around, the action was perfect, as was the intonation, which I didn't have to play with at all.

The frets were terrible; they were sticking out at the sides so far you would be very likely to cut your hands on them. I had to spend some time with some diamond files to smooth then down. I'd have rated this guitar five stars if the frets didn't need the work, as I'd expect I'd have to work on the setup of any new guitar to get it to my personal taste.

Now the guitar plays great. I love the neck; it's very easy to get around on. the sound is amazing. The splitable humbucker in the bridge position is a huge surprise in such a cheap guitar. If you want a Strat sound, you'll get it (pretty much) with all three pickups. Set the bridge pickup to a humbucker and you have two more sounds to play with when you select the bridge or bridge-middle settings.

Keep in mind I'm talking about a very inexpensive guitar here. I have no idea how well it will last or the long term condition of the neck and fingerboard, but if you know enough about guitars to correct minor defects, this is a gem worth many times its price.

Comments about Rogue Rocketeer Deluxe Electric guitar:

This is an inexpensive Chinese-made guitar with some good features. I wanted to see how much better it could be with a good setup, and the answer is very good. As delivered, the fretboard was dry as toast and the frets were not finished or crowned. Remove the strings, remove the neck, and a few minutes with a fine flat file fixed that. Oiled the fretboard, tightened the trem so it doesn't move, adjusted bridge height and intonation, slight adjustment to the truss rod (it comes with both wrenches) and the action now rivals some of my "better" guitars. I don't care about the quality of the pickups; like many people I have enough outboard electronics to make almost anything sound like almost anything else. This has a medium-weight body (much heavier/denser than the model 100), cheap but functional pots, serviceable tuners although I am replacing them with locking models. For a few hours' work it now plays well, and I like the 43mm (as opposed to many inexpensive guitars' 42mm) nut, since I have "adult fingers". Do not attempt to replace the plastic nut with bone or Tusq; it's glued in there solid. But for the price, this can be made very serviceable and I would recommend it as a decent beginner guitar.

The nut was a little high, had to file it down. Pretty good action (once the nut was filed down) with fairly straight neck and no string buzz for such an inexpensive (Chinese built) guitar. Picks up pretty even across all strings, no adjustment necessary. Great value, fun to play!

This is one well-thought-out guitar design. Looks good, comfortable to play, neck is shaped well (thin C shape) quality is good. This is my 5th purchase of the Rocketeer guitars. I like the wood (basswood) in the Deluxe model. This guitar has a Piano/Harpsichord type tone that is really excellent. Also brings out the best in effects (used Vox and Roland MultiEffect pedals) Well pleased.
