Got my order quickly and on time. packaged well. Beautiful lacquered finish soundhole decor is nice, no blemishes at all. Tuned up well, very decent strings, Holds it's tune very well. The tone is a little bit on the treble-y, tinny side, but very clear and resonate. Intonation is fine. Plays easily, not hard to fret at all. My only major "complaint" is the frets were not filed down well at all. In fact, I keep having to pull fibers off of the ends of the frets where my (microfiber) shirt keeps getting caught in them. But I suppose I can file them down myself. The other "flaw" I've found right off is the tuning machines were not aligned very well (not stright in their placement, some are turned at almost 10 degrees or so) on the headstock. Though this will not affect playability, it does show they were perhaps applied in a haphazard manner. All it would've taken is applying a straight edge or ruler to the headstock while placng them. Very poor, and so easy to have been done correctly. The treble-y sound does add dimension/ alternative sound to the collection of guitars I have, just from an "interest" point of view. This would be a great starter guitar or for camping or kids' guitar because of the low low price, but not a very fulfilling "rich sound" experience. Again, I'd highly recommend as a good starter.

Pay for the next Rogue up and right now it is the same price and the one above it is a dreadnaught and it survived a tour in Iraq and is now used in a church in Uganda. Awesome piece of art.
It's that, a starter guitar. Like the other raters said, some got good action some don't. I ordered two, one had good action, the other did not. I now see cracks in the back finish giving the impression it is not solid wood or plywood even, it is particle board and veary easy to break. Both guitars have chunks broken out of the back of the guitars and hardly even used. I put them in my classroom and my students are rough on them, but one looks like it was kicked, but I didn't see it. The back of the guitar is fragile and proven when a chip broke off the back of the second guitar with just playing for five minutes. The students are afraid to play them because they fear getting blamed for the crumbling backs.
CHeap is cheap and these are cheap. I had a Rogue guitar free with guitar strings and thought these were like that one, but not so.
High action and fragile wood.

Comments about Rogue Starter Acoustic Guitar:

I am just a beginner trying to teach myself how to play so I can teach my son how to play because he has shown an interest. This guitar is actually meant for him when he grows into it. I am petite in the torso so this guitar is a little big for me but I am learning to work around it. I know it stays in tune well because when I go to tune it at the beginning of my practice session most days I don't have to do anything except for maybe a little tweaking on a string or two. I love the rich color and the sound. I played an instrument in high school so I know a little about music and sound and this guitar has a nice tone to it.

Comments about Rogue Starter Acoustic Guitar:

Bought for my teenage daughter to learn. Love the 7/8 size for smaller hands. However, will not stay in tune which is an issue for a beginner. If I can fix it to stay in tune and buy better strings, this guitar will be great for it's intended purpose.

Comments about Rogue Starter Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this guitar to teach my son and daughter how to play, my guitars were way to big and to high of action for them to press the strings down. This little Rogue starter guitar is perfect...plus my daughter loves the red finish on this beauty! I am surprised I found this guitar at such an awesome deal...the cheap guitars at the supercenters are almost the same price and they sound like they are made from plywood( no resonating sound and won't keep tuned) but for just a little bit more, this guitar is almost as nice sounding as my Martin classic....almost.

We bought this guitar for our 10 year old daughter to learn on. She says it's still a little big for her, but she is on the small side. It's lightweight and fairly durable, as she has banged it around a bit. We are quite pleased with the guitar.

Comments about Rogue Starter Acoustic Guitar:

A great guitar to get started with. I bought this for my daughter who had trouble getting her arms around a full-sized Takamine.

The body on this guitar is much smaller, yet it has a full 25.5" scale length. The smaller and narrow body does hit the low end a little bit but it still sounds good to practice on. The strings it comes with are better than most acoustics ship with. After the first week of daily re-tuning (all new strings stretch for a while), the guitar holds its tune as well as any of my expensive guitars.

All in all, you can't beat the value of this little acoustic that can be set up like a more expensive guitar. Unlike many other beginner guitars, this one didn't come with the nut and bridge set sky high. I only cranked the truss rod in about 1/2 turn to straighten the neck into smooth-as-butter low and easy action.

I give it the full 5-stars given the value of what you get for the purchase price.
