3-piece mahogany neck
Made with 3 pieces of mahogany for extra stability, 3-piece necks can withstand the test of time. Where standard necks may show aging defects from temperature and moisture changes throughout the years, the 3-piece neck will stay nice and straight for a lifetime of playability.
Ebony fingerboard
Ebony has a snappy, crisp attack with the density of maple, but with more brittle grains, oilier pores, and a stronger fundamental tone than maple. It has a tremendous amount of percussive overtones in the pick attack, that mute out shortly thereafter to foster great, long, sustain.
Seymour Duncan Active Blackouts AHB-1 pickups
9-volt active humbuckers for aggressive playing styles. Recommended for old school metal, garage, punk, thrash, drop tunings, and other heavy rock styles. Capturing the tone that players want in an active design using balanced inputs. The result is 12dB to 14dB less noise, plus more lows, more highs, and more output.
Schecter locking tuners
Schecter locking tuners feature a locking screw pin to lock the string into place for greater tuning stability. Details include a 19:1 gear ratio allowing for precise fine tuning adjustments, removable knobs, threaded peghead bushing, and a 10mm diameter peghole.

I am the frontman of a heavy metal band so it's important for me to have a rock-solid rhythm guitar that I do not have to compensate for at all. My main focus needs to be on singing and hyping the crowd. This guitar does a lot of work for me and I didn't have to pay much for it. I would recommend this guitar to other rhythm players. For lead players, it is not feature-rich enough for intense leads but it will get the job done adequately.
The guitar also detunes very well, which is important for today's metal players. I play in "full step down" tuning (D G C F A D), and sometimes full step dropped (C G C F A D) . In both tunings, the string tension is perfect and does not cause any additional noise in the neck or in the bridge.
Another pleasant surprise is the Duncan Black-Out's. I swore I would never play another guitar with active pickups but I flat out lied. These pickups don't feel like actives in the purest sense, though they do compress quite a bit (leading to annoying noises, etc.). The eq leaves enough love in the mids to deliver a really rock-solid mid-heavy beefy sound.
Overall I love the guitar. I don't think I'm going to return it. For anyone who knows me, that's a strong statement. I am hard to satisfy.
The guitar is designed to be "simple." That does not mean that it's a bad guitar, it means that it does not have a tremolo, locking nut, sophisticated pickup configurations, and sophisticated volume and tone configurations. However, if you understand what the guitar is about, the features are more than adequate. My main gripe is the position of the pickup switch. I sling my guitar low on the body, and sometimes the switch is a little far for quick changes.
For a Korean-made guitar, this guitar plays as well or better than other guitars, especially in the same price range. I would compare it to high-end Ibanez makes/models (ICT700) or the 1000 series LTD's by ESP. It is built as well as guitars twice the price. Also - the engineers in the USA that set up these guitars do a fantastic job. The only con is the fret buzz, but all new guitars will buzz, especially with low action. I just need to play it more to grind down the frets a bit.
As stated before, the guitar plays as well or better than other guitars far beyond the price range. If you understand that the guitar is not a feature-rich guitar on purpose, the inherent value is outstanding. Furthermore, I bought this on the Stupid Deal of the Day (Thanks Musiciansfriend!) so the value for me is just that much more.

Highly recommended. I wouldnt have any other guitar but a Schecter.
Active Seymour Duncan Blackouts, set-neck, ebony fretboard, what more could you want in a guitar. For this price you cant get ANY other brand guitar with all of the features of a Schecter. Most all other brand guitars (except Gibson or LTD) you have to pay well over this price to even have active pickups in it.
Couldn't be better. I've played Gibsons and high range Jackson guitars that dosen't even compare to this one, or any other Schecter guitar.
As I said before you can't get any other guitar for this price with all of the features the blacjack series has. This guitar screams heavy metal. I bought it because it has Seymour Duncan Blackouts in it. My previous guitar (Schecter Hellraiser Solo-6) has EMG's in it and i wanted a taste of what the blackouts sound like. I have to say they sound as good if not better than EMG's. Trust me no Ibanez, Jackson, Dean, Gibson, whatever brand it is, can NOT compare to a Schecter.
