The Schecter BlackJack ATX C-1 is an electric guitar that is so comfortable to play, it almost becomes an extension of your body. An arched mahogany string-through body and 3-piece mahogany set neck with Schecter's Ultra Access heel contour give the BlackJack C-1 stunning stage presence.

The Blackjack ATX C-1 electric guitar features Seymour Duncan active Blackouts humbuckers. These are 9-volt pickups designed for aggressive playing styles; especially good for old school metal, garage, punk, thrash, drop tunings, and other heavy rock styles. The Blackouts' balanced inputs capture the tone that players want in an active design, providing more lows, more highs, more tone — period.

The Blackjack ATX C-1 guitar's ebony fingerboard features an Active Bolt inlay at the 12th fret, like a warning label for just how much power your electric guitar is packing. Grover tuners, a TonePros Tune-o-matic-style bridge and a GraphTech lubricating nut keep you in tune and maximizes sustain. Aged multiply binding is an excellent frame for the BlackJack's high-class aged finish.

Ok if you all are like me, then you have set your eyes upon this guitar and went "Wow! the first guitar on the market with pre installed blackout actives! I play metal! Ebony fretboard!"Yes, I finally succombed to my desire after ordering around 6 different guitars from the website, most of them being very poor. This guitar came VERY poorly set up. I think who ever was setting it up was eating at sandwich at the same time, because there were crumbs on it. The action was wayyy too low and there was an obscene amount of fret buzz. The strings were also poorly intonated. The tuners should be better. Yes, they are grover, but for some reason these don't hold the tuning as well as they should, and I cannot STAND having a guitar that doesnt stay in tune. Could be just mine though. The pickups sound great and really thrive with distortion. The bridge is excellent, I can go from that deathcore distortion drowning with gain to a medium-ish gain for early bush tones. The clean is not that great, even on the neck (could just be my amp, krank rev jr) but handles effects very well. The feel of the guitar is good and has great access to all 24 frets. It sounds and looks great, just make sure that you have it professionally set up.

I recently got the C1 Blackout and to say the least, I wasn't impressed. I'm a huge Schecter fan and I own a special edition Sunset Hellraiser FR with EMG 81 and 85's. I was looking for something without a Floyd Rose and so I decided to try this.I was pretty disappointed. For starters, the notch in the tonepros bridge didn't hold my E string in place. So it kept popping off. Secondly, these "Blackouts" pickups people praise so much really aren't any better than EMG. Infact, I found them to be a lot worse. EMG's have sharper, more clear sound while these were pretty messy. Also, the clean sounded absolutely terrible. Just plain bad. EMG's show ownership on all levels. The guitar itself kinda feels like a toy to me, its very light weight, smaller frets.

    The Greatest metal guitar.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research 2011 BlackJack ATX C-1 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is truly beautiful. I have the Aged Black finish, and the feeling of the flat black on the neck is extremely comfortable. The set neck provides extremely easy access. Being a metal player, i drop tune, from anywhere to drop C to drop G. and this is perfect for drop tuning, for the pickups resonate everything! If you are debating Hellraiser, ESP 1000 Deluxe, or Blackjack, go Blackjack!

    What a Jem

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research 2011 BlackJack ATX C-1 Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar simply for the Blackouts! I am a big Schecter fan and have owned just about all the models including the loomis and I do have to say that the ATX plays the best by far. I have owned this guitar for almost a year now and cannot find any flaws with it and everyone who plays it falls in love with the playability, even if they hate Schecters. If you do not play metal, do not buy this, because the blackouts are terrible for clean but this thing absolutley shine's if you play heavy stuff. A Schecter great and highly recommend to you metal players, it will not dissapoint!

    Schecter Blackjack ATX

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research 2011 BlackJack ATX C-1 Electric Guitar:

When I first pulled it out of the box, I was struck dumb. This guitar has to be one of the most beautiful guitars I have ever seen. Its craftsmanship is superb, as Schecter has once again made a beautiful instrumentThe real test was to see how it plays though. When I plugged it into my amp, the Blackouts blew me away. They blow EMGs out of the water! The neck is smooth, as you can't go wrong with an ebony fretboard. The right choice of wood and materials make this guitar and excellent choice.I do not regret the money I spent on this amazing guitar. It feels like an extension of my body. This is a must buy for anyone looking to play metal. BUY IT!!!!!!!

A great guitar by far! The sustain is great and I love the blackouts. For me, they sound much better than the emgs. Anyone that plays metal this is a must have. At first, it was a little much....but once you figure out your settings according to the output it is amazing. If you play alot of clean I wouldn't recommend this guitar. Rock on.

    It will melt your face

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research 2011 BlackJack ATX C-1 Electric Guitar:

I have owned this guitar for almost a year now and I can't say I found much wrong with it. It is simply a metal guitar. The SD Blackouts groan, squeal, and have amazing sustain. I probably won't go back to EMG's after this guitar. Nothing about the guitar has gotten under my skin yet, and I don't think it ever will. The only drawback to this guitar is playing clean - its simply not made for that. Just buy strat or something of your looking to play clean alot, but if your wanting to melt faces, this is the guitar to buy!

    I'm getting the FR version

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research 2011 BlackJack ATX C-1 Electric Guitar:

I just played this guitar today, and it is a great guitar. Very nice price you get more for what you pay for. The sound is amazing, it has a growl to every little note you play, and because of the sustain...every note will last more than 30 seconds. Perfect for thrash, well... any form of metal, and even some good ol' classic rock tones. I'm going to drop down a little more cash and get the Aged White ATX FR. You will not be disappointed if you buy it.

    A very good guitar indeed

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research 2011 BlackJack ATX C-1 Electric Guitar:

I bought the Aged White version of this guitar, and to tell the truth, I wasn't expecting much out of it, but I was blown away by this guitar! The Seymour Duncan Blackouts scream and sound excellent on any distorted amp. The guitar also gives a HUGE amount of sustain by itself, and the Blackouts help the sustain even more. I played it through a Line 6 Spider III head and a Peavey Valve King cab, and this guitar does not disappoint. Also, the neck is very fast and plays very smooth and clear. Another plus is that the guitar came with a battery for the pickups. The only complaints I have with this guitar is that it doesn't sound too good on clean channels, but they're active pickups so I wasn't expecting anything else, and that's something an effect can change. Overall, this a guitar well worth the money.

    Insane metal guitar

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research 2011 BlackJack ATX C-1 Electric Guitar:

This is by far the best guitar I have played. Believe me, I owned them all, Les Pauls, Strats, Ibanez, you name it I have owned it. For me, this is the perfect guitar. The Duncan Blackouts are absolutely insane. It has a Tone-Pros locking bridge, Grover tuners, there is nothing left to upgrade on this guitar. You can't go wrong, get it now...
