OVERVIEW

An alder body with bolt-on construction and Seymour Duncan pickups.

The Schecter Guitar Research Banshee-7 7-String Passive Electric Guitar is fully-equipped. It comes with an alder body and bolt-on multi-laminate neck. The fretboard is smooth ebony with 24 extra-jumbo frets and a compound radius for maximum comfort. Popular Seymour Duncan pickups produce plenty of tone control and power. Black chrome hardware completes the list of appointments.

Grover tuners
The original Rotomatic with an improved higher ratio gearing. The 18:1 ratio provides for finer tuning and greater stability. The finer gears provide smoother tuning and a higher degree of backlash elimination

Ebony fretboard
Ebony has a snappy, crisp attack with the density of Maple, but with more brittle grains, oilier pores, and a stronger fundamental tone than Maple. It has a tremendous amount of percussive overtones in the pick attack, that mute out shortly thereafter to foster great, long, sustain

Multi-laminate maple & walnut neck
Made from 3 pieces of maple and 2 center strips of walnut. This well balanced combination of select wood takes the bright tones of maple and adds a dark tone from the walnut strips. Often used for Thru neck construction giving the acoustic tone of the instrument a perfect string vibration transfer to the body.

Compound radius fretboard (12"-16")
Everyone knows how comfortable vintage guitar necks are for rhythm, but without uncomfortably high action, string bending "frets-out" on the higher frets. With a Compound radius fretboard you get the comfort of a 12" radius at the lower frets for Chording and easy access of Soloing at the higher frets with the 16" radius, not to mention perfect playability at the lowest string height possible.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Banshee-7 7-String Passive Electric Guitar:

I got this in black. Its MUCH more prettier in person than in the photo. First thing I noticed was the thin and very comfortable neck. It feels very dense and solid unlike my Ibanez guitars which have a very light and hollow feel and sound. Plus it has an extra inch of scale length which gives it more of a bite. It comes with locking tuners which are very helpful and assuring knowing your strings wont move on the tuning peg. The bridge is quite flush, low profile and sleek. The seymour duncan Nazgul and Sentient pickups are devastating. And I love how the bridge and pickups are a matching matte black color. Pickup selecor and tone/volume knobs are quite studry and solid. I play all kinds of metal but mostly deathcore or other drop A tuning on this axe. Love it!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Banshee-7 7-String Passive Electric Guitar:

Got this on sale, but would still pay regular price for it. Mine's black, and it's a beautiful instrument to look at and hold. Quality-wise I can't find anything to complain about. Not the lightest guitar on the planet, but not excessive either - feels and plays substantial. Locking tuners are great, though not high ratio... Pickups sound great to me, and love the push-pull coil tap. Neck is thin and largely comfortable - has a "slower" taper towards the edge, which is fine with me but ymmv. Heel joint is a bit thick, making some higher fret work a bit challenging... Overall, quite satisfied with the deal I got.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Banshee-7 7-String Passive Electric Guitar:

The Banshee 7 is simply one of the best 7 strings out there. I have owned many Ibanez, carvin, musicman 7 strings guitars. This schecter is above most and right there with the most expensive of the bunch and this comes in at less than half the price. When schecter does it right, its a home run. Inspect your schecter full though, i had to send two back before getting a good one.
