OVERVIEW

Wickedly sleek and armed with active pickups and a Floyd RoseĀ® locking tremolo.

Schecter is breaking new musical ground with their Slim Line Series of electric guitars. Designed with an ultra-thin, lighting fast neck and a sleek contoured body, the Blackjack SLS C-1 FR Active is armed with a pair of active Seymour Duncan Blackout pickups, a Floyd Rose 1000 Series locking tremolo, and Grover tuners. Elegant design appointments include a "Hell's Gate Skull" inlay on its ebony fretboard, and the entire guitar is adorned with black chrome hardware.

3-Piece maple neck
Made with 3 pieces of maple for extra stability. 3-Piece necks can withstand the test of time. Where standard necks may show aging defects from temperature and moisture changes throughout the years, the 3-piece neck will stay nice and straight for a lifetime of playability.

Satin finish and Ultra-Thin profile
The SLS collection features a satin finish neck for lightning fast playing above and below the 12th fret, an Ultra Thin neck profile (19mm at 1st fret/ 20mm at 12th fret), and new Ultra Access neck joint shape for easier access to the last frets.

Ebony fretboard
Ebony has a snappy, crisp attack with the density of maple, but with more brittle grains, oilier pores, and a stronger fundamental tone than maple. It has a tremendous amount of percussive overtones in the pick attack, that mute out shortly thereafter to foster great, long sustain.

Seymour Duncan Blackout active pickups
Blackouts capture the tone that players want in an active design using balanced inputs. The result is 12dB to 14dB less noise, plus more lows, highs, and output.

Grover tuning machines
The original Rotomatic with an improved higher ratio gearing. The 18:1 ratio provides for finer tuning and greater stability. The finer gears provide smoother tuning and a higher degree of backlash elimination.

Hell's Gate Skull inlay
The Mother of Pearl 'Hell's Gate Skull' inlay compliments the beautiful Ebony fretboard. The thin white binding strip adds a nice highlight.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack SLS C-1 FR Active Electric Guitar:

I love the guitar. Blackouts are great. Love all my Schecters this being #5. The selling point for me(and to get it past the wife) was not only the color, but also the 12th fret inlay. When I opened it up....no Inlay. Obviously this doesn't effect playability at all. However when I order something online I expect the product I order to be what shows up on my doorstep. Upon calling I got the typical "I researched it and someone posted the wrong photo, I apologize. Well you can send it back and exchange for something else". I decided to forego the hassle and just keep it.
