OVERVIEW

A 7-string rocker with Seymour Duncan pickups and string-thru sustain.

Schecter is breaking new musical ground with their Slim Line Series of electric guitars. Designed with an ultra-thin, lighting fast neck and a sleek contoured body, the Blackjack SLS C-7 is armed with Seymour Duncan Full Shred and Jazz humbucking pickups, a TonePros w/ string-thru body bridge, and Schecter locking tuners. Elegant design appointments include a "Hell's Gate Skull" inlay on its ebony fretboard, and the entire guitar is adorned with black chrome hardware.

3-Piece maple neck
Made with 3 pieces of maple for extra stability. 3-Piece necks can withstand the test of time. Where standard necks may show aging defects from temperature and moisture changes throughout the years, the 3-piece neck will stay nice and straight for a lifetime of playability.

Satin finish and Ultra-Thin profile
The SLS collection features a satin finish neck for lightning fast playing above and below the 12th fret, an ultra-thin neck profile (19mm at 1st fret/ 20mm at 12th fret), and a new Ultra Access neck joint shape for easier access to the last frets.

Ebony fretboard
Ebony has a snappy, crisp attack with the density of maple, but with more brittle grains, oilier pores, and a stronger fundamental tone than maple. It has a tremendous amount of percussive overtones in the pick attack, that mute out shortly thereafter to foster great, long sustain.

Seymour Duncan Full Shred and Jazz passive pickups
The Full Shred contains double rows of Allen screw pole pieces help fine tune the high end, leaving a tone that's fat and chunky, yet perfectly defined for speed riffs. Seymour Duncan's Jazz is a classic moderate output humbucker. Don't let the name fool you; it's not only great for jazz, but also country, blues, funk, classic rock and heavy rock.

Schecter locking tuning machines
These tuners feature a locking screw pin to lock the string into place for greater tuning stability. Details include a 19:1 gear ratio allowing for precise fine tuning adjustments, removable knobs, threaded peghead bushing and a 10mm diameter peg hole.

Hell's Gate Skull inlay
The Mother of Pearl 'Hell's Gate Skull' inlay compliments the beautiful ebony fretboard. The thin white binding strip adds a nice highlight.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack SLS C-7 Electric Guitar:

Overall great 7 string the only thing that could make this guitar better would be a Floyd Rose option maybe next year schecter.I also own the ATX C-7 and they or two totally different guitars the SLS is much lighter and much more thin in the neck and body. The sls also sounds much brighter acoustically because of the maple neck and top also it is much easier to access to the higher frets on the sls.I have answered all of the questions that i had about this guitar i hope this review helps enjoy.
Coil tap on both pickups sounds just like single coils.
This guitar looks and feels great It was in tune right out of the box with pretty low action. I have the See Thru Blue Burst the burst finish is on the front and back of this guitar very rare.
Find a 26.5 scale 7 string with this setup for a better deal i dont think you will.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack SLS C-7 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is phenomenal. The craftsmanship is amazing. The neck feels very nice although it took a little getting used to for me. The 26.5" scale is perfect for dropped tuning. The action and setup were great right out of the box. The passive pickups are very good... but I did replace the bridge pickup with a Bare Knuckle Aftermath. The ebony fingerboard is absolutely amazing. I could have done without the little skull inlay, but it's easy to overlook once you play this thing. It looks, plays, and sounds like a much more expensive guitar. Buy this thing!
