OVERVIEW

A daring shape, daunting sound, and dependable FR trem.

The Damien Elite Avenger electric guitar sets itself apart from the crowd with an eye-catching, sweeping Avenger double-cutaway while the tried-and true tonewood combination of mahogany body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard provide a balanced tonal resonance mix for the hot, active EMG humbuckers. The Floyd Rose Special trem lets you perform feats of whammy-bar derring do without a net.

Rosewood fingerboard
The most commonly fretboard wood, rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than Maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.

EMG Active 81/85 humbuckers
One of the most popular EMG’s the 81 is the one that started a revolution. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the tone was designed with detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high end cut and fluid sustain. Traditionally used in the bridge position, this pickup will make your leads slice right through even the densest mix. When used in both neck and bridge positions the sound can only be described as blistering.

Although the EMG-85 Humbucker has more measurable output than the 81, its frequency response and string interface are different. The 85 uses 2 Alnico magnet-loaded coils with a wide aperture to maintain a beefy low end and a fatter top end. Because of a more natural tone, it works great as a rhythm and blues pickup because it has loads of output but isn't muddy. It's a perfect choice as a rhythm pickup in combination with an 81 in the bridge.

Grover tuners
Grover Rotomatics with 18:1 gear ratio. The original Rotomatic® with an improved higher ratio gearing. The 18:1 ratio provides for finer tuning and greater stability. The finer gears provide smoother tuning and a higher degree of backlash elimination.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Damien Elite Avenger FR Electric Guitar:

This guitar is absolutely Gorgeous! I am getting it for Christmas so I only played it for a few minutes to make sure it wasn't damaged during shipping, and I just fell in love. Like most things online, the pictures do not do this guitar justice. It looks so much better in person (See-Thru Black!). I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a guitar that just feels easy to play, and is a metal machine. Hands down best guitar I've ever touched.

I have guitars, and have had guitar costing twice to three times the cost of this guitar... This guitar is amazing, it has quickly become my favorite hands down... I have been playing guitar for over 40 years and this guitar tops anything I have ever played,it is truly a pleasure to play... I can say nothing bad about this guitar... On the back it says ready to play, it's true, my guitar came out of the box totally set up and ready to go...

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Damien Elite Avenger FR Electric Guitar:

Overall the guitar is great. It feels great to play. The jumbo frets give amazing playability. Active EMG 81/85 pickups sound amazing, especially for heavy music. The pick ups are great for drop tunings like drop C# C etc. The Floyd Rose is a Floyd Rose, not much to say there. But make sure you know what your looking at. The tremolo has to set up for a specific tuning meaning you can't just changed it without offsetting the bridge. I wish that this was made with a neck though neck. its hard to get up to the 22-24 frets easily and its a little uncomfortable. when the whammy bar is on the tremolo it makes it difficult to access the pickup selector and nobs. It feels a little awkward messing with the volume and tone and you cant get to the pickup selector very quickly with out hitting the bar. I guess this can be a problem with any FR. I will add that this is a heavy guitar. Its right up there with a Les Paul's weight. And strap locks would be recommended because of the way the top nut is. Overall the guitar is great, it feels great, and it looks absolutely amazing!
