The Schecter Hellraiser Special C-1 electric guitar has the looks, playability and tone that will please any metal player. Hellraising features include a carved figure maple top, double-cutaway mahogany body, and a 3-piece mahogany neck. A Schecter Ultra-Access neck heel lets you get all the way up the electric guitar's 24-fret rosewood fretboard. Active EMG-81 (bridge) and 85 (neck) pickups deliver the roaring tones needed for today's metal mayhem. The Schecter guitar's Tune-o-matic-style bridge with strings-thru-body adds sustain and tuning stability. Mother-of-pearl dagger inlays, multi-ply binding, and black chrome hardware round out the Hellraiser Special guitar's dark, sinister look.

I picked up this guitar from a local dealer in Australia and because we get absolutely ripped off over here, it cost me around $1,000. I played this and the Regular version (which in Aus goes for around $1,500) and to be honest there was no noticeable difference! I just wish I had seen this price on Musicians Friend before handing over the ridiculous over-priced "deal" I got.
Back to the guitar. The tone is fantastic for what it is made to do - it rocks hard, and is perfect for heavy metal music and dropped tunings (I mostly use it in Drop B with Ernie Ball 12-56 on it) and even though it doesn't have the locking tuners like the regular model, it stays perfectly in tune for about 4 songs of smashing out riffs before I have to even think about checking the tuning. Love this guitar, the finish is awesome with no flaws whatsoever!

I have been playing Strats forever! I wanted something that got a heaver sound than my Strat, with the neck feel of a Les Paul, but had the body feel of a strat. I found all that in my Schecter, and wish I would have bought one of these babies a long time ago! I have had this axe for about 3 months and I love this guitar. I am now looking at getting a second one. I got the see thur black and it is beutiful. This axe holds tune perfect, the EMG's bleed metal, but also sound great clean. The heel on the neck allows you easy access to every fret. If your thinking about one of these, GET IT!

This guitar is everything that I want, this thing is a rock beast. The price may be a little out of my budget, but if I had to go back I wouldn't change a thing. (well maybe I would try not tuning it...)
This guitar is beautiful, when I went to my local music store, I had my eye on this guitar. I got the see thru black and I couldn't be happier.
This guitar is built for rock, even though one of the strings broke (I was trying to tune it but I went to high). I think the quality is great, and I'm really happy I got this guitar.
I knew I wanted a Schecter in the beginning, but I was thinking about something cheaper like a Damien or omen 6, but once you get your hands on this you just have to let your budget slide.

I ordered this thing through a local schecter dealer whom i've known for years and he didnt even notice hardly any difference between the special edition and the regular edition. When I called him to have it ordered, he had no idea what i was talking about simply because this thing is just like it more expensive counterpart. He got it in and played it and was still shocked that it sounds and plays just like the 750 dollar one. Main difference is the trimming. The pickups are different but not even noticeable. I was also shocked. I've been playing for years, and for 600 dollars, I am very happy and pleased by its sound and performance. If you want a good guitar for under 700 dollars, then this should be your main choice. I'm going to get the Floyd Rose one next.

I have been playing guitar for over 23 years and I have to say this is the best guitar I have ever owned. I know there are many other great guitars out there, but this one is great for the price. I love the feel of this guitar and everything about it. If you want a great guitar and don't have a lot of money to spend, this is a great deal for sure. I would buy another one if something ever happend to it.

Most Schecters look amazing and this is no exception! The emg 81/85 combo is perfect for metal, the neck is lightning fast, the whole thing is extremely light weight, and the set neck allows you to reach the upper frets. The binding of the guitar is amazing and the mother of pearl inlays are breathtaking. I love everything about this guitar.

I received this guitar a few weeks ago after ordering from MusiciansFriend. All I can say is wow. I ordered the Schecter Hellraiser Special with the red quilted maple top. The thing is breath taking. The only issue I had prior to ordering the guitar is a lack of information on Schecter's website. It is a relatively new model as of the time of this review, but I still expected specs, pictures, etc. Anyways, the set neck is carved out and plays like a thru neck, the fretboard and neck are blazing fast despite Schecter's reputation for fat necks. I played a Jackson prior to this purchase and the Schecter is actually a huge improvement. The EMGs scream, and the guitar is put together well. It came perfectly set up and I have had absolutely no issues with it. I love this guitar and will buy another if anything ever happens to it. If you're on the fence, I say get it. I will never regret owning this guitar and will be a Schecter fanatic for life.
