An electric guitar that must be reckoned with…at a bargain price.

The Schecter Hellraiser Special Solo-6 lives up to its name completely and is similar to the Regular Hellraiser Solo-6 minus the abalone binding, coil taps, locking tuners and Tone Pros bridge.

This Hellraiser 6 was designed for loud, heavy metal music. Just a few power chords on the Hellraiser and you will know that no other tonewood conveys dark tones like solid mahogany. The 3-piece set mahogany neck with an Ultra Access heel design gives you total access to the 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. Fitted with an EMG Active 81 and EMG 85 Active pickup in the neck position, the Schecter Hellraiser Solo-6 gives you an amazing sound palette to work with. Its through-the-body string routing gives you even more sustain. Sweet aesthetic touches include dagger fingerboard inlays and black chrome hardware.

i have a very wide range of musical interests ranging from blues to metal, this guitar does it all. the crunch and tone you get from the emgs make it ideal for achiving the all important humbucker tone. its a great guitar especially for the money. i play it through a halfstack and faces are melted every time. i love this thing and am glad i bought it.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Special Solo-6 Electric Guitar:

I finally got me an upgrade for my electric. I stopped playing electric because I had a fender starcaster (beginner cheap guitar I know!), and I got tired of the poor sound on that thing. I own a vypyr amp, and I was thinking of an upgrade for that too... well after I plugged in this guitar I changed my mind. Although is not a true tube amp, I really like the sound of these two together. I am sure you can record some heavy stuff with this and make it sound good.
Moving on to the main thing. I tried SEVERAL guitars before this, but this one has AWESOME LOOKS AND AWESOME PICKUPS for a low price. The sustain goes forever, and it was nicely set up. The guitar does have a really crunchy sound, so obviously cleans are not as clean but they are good, although kind of mellow, however remember that these pickups are supposed to sound like that so they are only doing their job. I have plugged in my guitar to a couple of apps such as garage band, jam up, and amplitube with an irig. not the best sound to do professional recording, but great for practice. I have not tested the guitar with a cabinet but I'm sure if the thing soundS loud and clear through a practice amp like the vypyr, it will sure sound great with a better preamp and a cabinet. Overall I think this is very close to a pros guitar for a really low price.

            I love this guitar.
Active EMGs not withstanding, this guitar has a nice, simple interface.
I made the mistake of playing this instrument rather than simply drooling in its general direction (on the Holy Wall @ Guitar Center). I walked in for strings and walked out with...well...you know.
            Such a deal!

            WOW, Very impressed!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Special Solo-6 Electric Guitar:

If you play Metal, or any kind of Rock, this guitar is perfect. EMG's are a bit sterile sounding on clean. But thats their nature. And when you play with heavy gain, forget it! This guitar has such a heavy thick chunk, but still has searingly clear highs. I can tell you, as a real deal Gibson Les Paul player I was not expecting this guitar to impress me. But it lives up to the old Schecter name. And the sunburst effect on the BACK of the neck, headstock, and body is a classy touch! Try one out, you'll love it!!
I normaly dont give 10's across the board, but this guitar deserves it!! I used to love Schecter guitars. But when they killed the C-1 Classic line i was MAD! The other lines that followed where not that great. But I was at a guitar store and decided to try this out on a Peavey 6505+ Combo. I was Floored!
This guitar is FLAWLESS. It wieghs a ton, but that translates to crazy sustain and great bottom end. The finish and action was perfect. Great tuners, and great great hardware.
At this price, you cant get a better guitar without spending a few hundred more for upgrades. Period

            Epi Les Paul Killer

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Special Solo-6 Electric Guitar:

Okay, so that title assumes you're going to try to do the same thing with this guitar that you'd try to do with an Ephiphone. Maybe, maybe not. But if you're looking for a Les Paul body with the cold steel heart of a balls-out metal axeman's weapon, well, here ya go. If you want to play blues and classic rock, well, maybe, depends on your amp I guess. This guitar absolutely rips it on the gain channel, whether just a touch for aggressive blues, or a full on boutique amp metal sound. It is between these two boundaries that the EMG Actives shine. Great balance between lows and highs. Tight attacks. Sustain for days (actives + set neck = love). Start shredding your licks and you'll find all the articulation you need thanks again to the pickups, the maple neck, and the big ole frets. Controls are as expected- pup selector switch, separate pup vols, tone, master volume. If I could add one more feature, it would be the coil splitter that the Elite model sports. But then again, it's another $150 for that model, and when you get down to it, why bother? This axe is about face melting, not jingle-jangle honking, am I right? While I'm on the subject, don't expect the Hellraiser to sing sweetly. These are not PAF pickups. They don't have the vintage glassy tone at low volume that purists will insist upon. I don't think that's a characteristic of actives, so be warned. I find the clean sound acceptable, even sweet at times and damn sure above that of a cheaper guitar, but not "pure" as far as humbuckers go. Moving on, this thing has a gorgeous finish (mine is the sunburst), and considerable weight. When you pick it up there's no question about it being anything other than a solid heavy rock machine. The tuners, while not Grovers, have performed just fine. I'm sure some day I'll slap some fancier ones on, but I'll definitely keep these for a project guitar. Mine came set up to rock. Didn't have to do a thing. Normally I do the usual action/intonation/neck adjust. Not this time. Also, with less expensive guitars, I generally break out some of my luthier files and dress the frets. No need here. Butter smooth out of the box. I love Schecter. I recently bought an Omen bass as well, and I'm sure I'll be back for more. Best kept secret in sick/sweet guitars. For now. Buy one.

            Killer guitar for the price!!!!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Hellraiser Special Solo-6 Electric Guitar:

I just purchased this model in black cherry and its amazing sounding and plays great. The tuners are not locking, but do an excellent job holding tune. The paint job and neck inlays look amazing and make this guitar look like a 2000$ Gibson for a fraction of the price. This guitar is heavy at a whopping 8 pounds 14 ounces compared to my solo 6 custom which weighs 12 ounces less, and the EMG pickups give it a very dark and agressive sound for metal or hard rock. I think these guitars can rival American made guitars for dependability and playability and lately I've become a Schecter fan because of that. Now if they just offered a case with some of these that would be great as well cause its hard to find an exact fit.
