This guitar is quite a guitar. It has a slim neck for slightly fast playing, and it is also slightly good looking if you polish it. It is comfortable for flicking around on stage cause it's so light...its tone is beefy and meant for metal. The tone controls...why even bother? The only thing it does is switch from hum bucker to single coil pickups....not much else goes on down there. This guitar is falling apart for me. the input jack broke, got that fixed, and now the volume knob feel out...ugh...I feel most comfortable on this guitar as opposed to my fender Mexican strat HSS. I?d go for it if you want to have a slightly good guitar...it's really not that bad, the pickups aren't good, but what do you expect? They are Duncan DESIGNED. Emphasis on the word "designed." But that can be changed. The cutaway is hard to go up on the neck with if you have big hands or even slightly big hands.

This is the best quality guitar you can buy for the money. Upgraded seymour duncan pickups and grover tuners. Nice finish lightweight with a fast neck. I have a fender I paid twice as much for but this guitar has become my main axe. Great guitar.

this is the exact guitar that Zacky from Avenged Sevenfold used. It is equiped with duncan designed pickups, so you have the insane sound. String this baby up with Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom strings (the ones that zacky & syn use) & you have the exact tone that they do. great for metal or any other genre.
I have a schecter blackjack atx fr, an american strat, and a gibson SG and this guitar is my favorite of the four. It is so easy to play and the sound is amazing. I bring my blackjack and my strat up on stage but 9 times out of ten I never pick them up, unless I break a string. If you are looking for a great guitar for a little money you should consider this one. The only thing I don't like is the cheapness of the volume tone controls, but that is a cheap fix. Its light, the fretboard is fast and easy, and with the set neck its very durable. The other guys in my band were blown away with the sound of this guitar. From country to metal this guitar does it all....highly recommended.
I played this guitar in a store not more than a week ago. the sound that it produces is great. it's light-weight and extremely easy to play. it's every beginner guitarist's dream.
I don't think it is possible to get a guitar this cheap with such good quality and features. It has awesome pickups. very good distortion and tonal range. The Grover tuners don't let the guitar slip out of tune. I ahve even broke strings and the guitar stayed in tune! I don't feel the need to get a new guitar for a while.
I've been playing a Mexican Fat Strat for about a year now, and always wanted a lighter and more efficient guitar. The Schecter S-1 does that, very light, close to my friends Parker classic, and sounds incredible. The coil tap gives it that awesome side-edge that everyone wants, and the neck and bridge pickups have that beefy yet clear tone.
This guitar is pretty decent there is some buzzing in the frets though. The sustain in the DD HB-102 humbukers last a long time with a switch to control it. It's a nice guitar overall! This is also zacky vengence's of Avenged Sevenfold main guitar that he uses for the videos and for the stage.
I have played this guitar and the pickups are so freakin sweet! The neck position Duncan-Designed pickup really cranks out those sweet harmonics needed for soloing and the mid-position combines the low end sutanin and that heavy deep tone and finally the neck position gives it the warmth and distortion needed to hard rock your socks off! No wonder that some of todays great guitarists use Schecter products! Schecter gives Gibson a run for their money! Rock On, Horns Up!
wow this guitar is very nice the finish looks great and it sounds so amazing the fretboard very nice and easy to play on to i just love the feel of this guitar anyone lookin for a good guitar definetly pick up this one
This is the most amazing guitar I have ever played at this price. It feels as good as it looks, and play sounds even better. The pearl Grover tuners really compliment the pearl and abalone inlays. Together, they really show off the beauty of the guitar. The Duncan Designed humuckers have great tone and are simply the best non-active picups i have ever heard. There is absolutely no buzzing. The only suggestions I have are to use a heavier gauge for the low e,a,and d strings. I used Super Slinkys and it buzzed a little at the nut and bridge. Now I use Hybrid Slinkys and they are just fine.
I have played MANY guitars, but this one really swept me off my feet. The pickups are good, the feel is good, the neck is perfect, and most of all, it is affordable. I recommend this guitar to anyone who wants to buy a guitar and not regret it later.
I was looking for somthing with alot of crunch and good looks to play in my metal band and when I picked this one up at guitar center, I couldn't quit playing it. It has great smooth tone thats chunky at the same time and it is alot better balanced than an epiphone SG. But for a metal musician, especially for A7X fans you can't lose.
I have had this guitar for about 6 months and it was well worth the buy. If you are a rocker like myself, it will blow you away. The frets feel smooth and the strings couldn't be easier to hold down. This is a great guitar for anyone who wants an affordable guitar they can rock out with.
This guitar is simply amazing. Its the guitar that Zacky V from A7X plays and thats not all. ITs got JBs but thats not all. Its got an amazing smoothness to the neck but thats not all. Its got Grover tuners but......well you see my point! Schecter is one of the best brands out there.
I played this baby at my music store and if I would have had the money I would have bought it right then and there. The neck is VERY smooth and could easily outplay my Ibanez. The pick-ups were pretty good for stock. The finish was beautiful and would keep a crowd 's eye on you on stage. This is an AMAZING guitar!
This guitar is simply fabulous.I've played on it for some time now. The active mic set gives comfort to the sound hence to the wild player. This really isn't a beginner?s guitar! Once you have this weapon, you can start acting on the big stage. You are the one playing ;)
I was helping a guitar student shop for guitars and after playing a cheap, but fantastic, Dean entry-level guitar, I picked up one of these in the see thru cherry. It felt so good in my hands, I have been favoring an old guitar I've had for 17 years, but this one had that "old friend" feel. LOW action, NO buzz, sounded great through a good tube amp. I recommended it to my student, and then later came back and bought one for myself! The Duncan Designed are my favorite Duncans. I have a set of used ones in my "old friend." This guitar BLOWS AWAY the Gibson Les Paul I have. Gibson's been kind of lousy lately.
Wow. I picked up this guitar from my local music shop and I love it. The things that everyone seems to love about these guitars (Duncan Design pups and Grover Tuners) are only gravy. Even without those, this would be a great guitar. The tone pros bridge is a plus, too. One concern with the neck, though, it feels like you could snap it off at the body without too much effort, but it wouldn't be a problem unless you get pretty wild on stage.
I'm not a guitar player nor could I give you a "qualified" performance review of this instrument. However, I am a procussionist/producer and a recording studio owner. I get all kinds of players through my doors. I recently bought a cherry red Schecter S1 for the studio. Our first and only solid mahogany guitar. The studio has 5 other guitars far more prestigous than a Schecter and this ax (S1 Schecter) gets more action than all of them combined. A client/artist don't stand at the rack to make a selection anymore they simply grab the S1 and get to work. As I mentioned...I'm no guitar player but I see and hear what they like and this S1 gets a lot of action.
This guitar sounds amazing. The coil tap feature is great for those looking for the single coil tone. It makes this guitar quite versatile. This guitar also looks beautiful. I love the inlays. The feel of this guitar is good. The neck is very slim (too slim for my big hands) and fast. Try this guitar, you might be surprised.
I own it and play on it almost every show (which is almost every weekend). If you like playing SG style guitars, like myself, this is almost perfect for you if you can't afford a Gibson price range....it's not too neck heavy, like most SG's...it has a larger body that help distribute the weight ...and it balances well when you take your hand off the neck. I was not thrilled with the factory pickups, resolved that by putting in Seymour Duncan's : SH-6 Distortion Humbucker in the bridge and a SH-2N Jazz Model Pickup in the neck (both $75 / piece). This guitar...with the upgraded pickups, really gets in done in this New Orleans Jazz/Blues setting. I would say that this is a good guitar for the regular guitarist who has a lil' bit of money to spend on pickup upgrades, and in my opinion, it's a very good upper price range beginner electric!
