OVERVIEW

A sharp-looking axe with a full-scale maple neck, dual humbuckers and TOM bridge.

The SGR Avenger Electric Guitar has the design and features of Schecter guitars costing much more. The double-cutaway body is made of basswood with beveled edges for playing comfort. Its bolt-on maple neck has a rosewood fingerboard with 24 medium frets and an intricate Gothic Cross inlay at the 12th fret. SRG humbucking pickups and a Schecter tune-o-matic bridge offer the tones and sustain that make this guitar an exceptional value. Comes with a Schecter gigbag.

Schecter tuners
These high quality tuners feature a classic design in a lubricated and sealed housing to protect gears for a lifetime of maintenance free playability. Details include a 15:1 gear ratio for smooth and precise tuning, removable knobs, threaded hex peghead bushing, and a 10mm diameter peg hole.

Rosewood fingerboard
The most common fretboard, Rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.

SGR pickups by Schecter Diamond Plus
Over wound coils with a Ceramic Magnet give this aggressive high output pickup the push that will send your Amp over the edge. Made for crunchy rhythms and blistering leads. Perfect for drop tunings. This pickup will cut through the mix with ease.

Maple neck
Maple has a uniform grain, it' strong and stable, and it has less reaction from environmental changes than other hardwoods. Its tone is highly reflective, and focuses more energy onto the body wood. Maple transfers a bright tone to the body which complements the warm tones of a mahogany body

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research SGR Avenger Electric Guitar:

I've had this thing for 3 years now, got it for my 17th birthday, i have a select few other guitars but none are as reliable or as smooth sounding as this one. Over the years its gotten its abuse.. One day my dog knocked it face first and broke the selector switch for the pick up, which still works you just have to pry it over with a pick, i made some personal petty mods to it, changed the tone knobs to classic strat ones to give it a more "90s grunge look" which is what i was into at the time, and flipped the truss rod guard plate over so that it was white instead of black. Lastly one grave mistake i made, left it in reach of a teething puppy, chewed the one corner of it. But after 3 years of clear abuse all of the internal electronics work great and sounds as good as it did the day i bought it.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research SGR Avenger Electric Guitar:

Starting over as a guitarist (with Bandfuse) and could not pass this guitar up at less than 130. In this price range nothing else could match this guitar. Out of the box it was ready to go, only slightly out of tune.

The only slight criticism is that the neck could be a little smoother, maybe a high grit sandpaper will even it out.
