    Schecter never fails to impress

    By Jdog1

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Solo-6 Special Electric Guitar:

This the second Schecter I have purchased from Musicians Friend (The first being a C1 Classic) and once again I'm am extremely impressed. First, the color is more butterscotch than yellow. That out of the way, this guitar arrived flawless. The craftsmanship is excellent. I've gone over it with a fine tune comb and cannot find one blemish, mistake, problem. Just beautiful. Action was decent upon arrival but I lowered it a little more to my liking. Intonation out of the box was perfect. No fret buzz. The Seymour Duncan Design Bridge PU sounds so close to the JB's in my Les Paul and C1 it's eerie. Pinch harmonics wail. Great classic and hard rock tones. The P100 is a little muddy for me but when you use the coil tap it's sounds frickin' sweet! I love it. This guitar is worth much more than $499. Once again, Schecter has impressed me.

    Killer!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Solo-6 Special Electric Guitar:

I got my tv yellow schecter solo 6 today. I noticed right away that when I pullet it out of the bag that it is a much darker yellow brown than what is pictured here. And you can see the wood grain through it. It's definitely a butterscotch color. I wasn't very impressed with that. It should be more "yellow" like the picture and not see through!!!The pickup options are mind-blowing. The tone knobs are push pull for each pickup. When down the pickup is in humbucking mode and when pulled up it's in single coil mode. Very versatile sounding guitar. But on that note. I'm not sure if it's the cheap strings it comes with...but it sounds thin and kinda like a banjo. Gonna change out the string to some 10s and hopefully that will cure that.Very cool guitar but the color difference from the picture almost makes me want to sand it down and paint it just like the picture!! grrr!!

    Great axe!!!

    By Steedee

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Solo-6 Special Electric Guitar:

The solo 6 has excellent build quality. I just don't see how you can make such a great guitar for so cheap. You'll find attention to detail and a very nice set up right out of the box. The neck is a bit chunky with a nice flat radius. The fret job is simply incredible. The pickups sound average, with the P100 in the neck being a bit noisy. But hey, for the price it beats any standard Fender and can meet or beat any of the PRS SE models build quality. I'm seriously impressed! It's a great buy.

    Blues, Rock, Country, Modern Grunge

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Solo-6 Special Electric Guitar:

This little unit does it all. Exceptionally well made. Pick up configuration second to none. Fret board allows your fingers to dance. I've played them all and this ax ranks right up there with the best of them. I suggest getting one while they last. There won't be any more after this year. Like the Tempest classic I guarantee you will not be able to find one after this year.
