I played this guitar at a local guitar shop. This guitar was purely smooth and the tone was a bit crushing with the right amp setup. For all the Floyd Rose nay sayers I have a Jackson Phil Demmel Signature Bloodline series and I have never had a problem. When buying any guitar with a Floyd it needs to be setup up and intonation for the gauge of strings you are using. It's a must if you have never had a floyd and don't know the first thing about doing a setup trust me I know I made that mistake. This is going to be my next guitar versus a Gibson.

All these reviews on the Floyd Rose going out of tune are completely wrong. If you know what you're doing with it and have it set up properly it stays in tune for weeks. The bridge has to be floating perfectly straight and parallel to the guitar, it's the spring to string tension that does this. I've owned a Floyd Rose for 6 years and will never buy a guitar without one.

The TRUTH about the Floyd

By hunterstreet13

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Synyster SYN Custom Limited Electric Guitar:

I would just like to say that everyone that says the Floyd goes out of tune is wrong. I have no clue how anyone could not get it to stay in tune. You have to do something seriously wrong for that to happen. Tremolos require special setups with your strings. Get a professional to show you how to set it up. The guitar is great, I own it and it is amazing.

A guitar that does it all!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Synyster SYN Custom Limited Electric Guitar:

I actually own the white/gold model but it's the same guitar just different color so I thought I'd just give me take on. This is simply just an amazing instrument. Possibly one of the most versitle guitars I've ever played. Gorgeous killer looks and the action is perfect. It plays as nice as it looks. The locking tuner system seems to keep it in tune very well I've had mine for several months now and have had no issue with it staying in tune. The push button switches from single coil to double giving an almost unlimited amount of tones. You sort of have a Gibson and Fender in one guitar. I've played everything from Hendrix style blues to heavy Avenged style licks. Can't say enough good about this one, if your in the market for a great guitar definatly check this out!

About the Floyd Rose Trem

By Scooterflash

from Florida

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Synyster SYN Custom Limited Electric Guitar:

I've never played this guitar, but my comments concern the Floyd Rose Tremolo. Floyd Rose has the unfortunate reputation as a trem that goes out of tune all the time. From experience I can tell you this is absolutely true. A few years ago, I custom ordered a great guitar and had the choice between a Floyd Rose and a Wilkenson, and stupidly chose the Floyd Rose. I couldn't play one song without going out of tune - it was very frustrating to have to re-tune between every song. After 1 week and 3 gigs, I called the maker and asked if I could sent the guitar back and have them replace the Floyd Rose with the Wilkenson. They were reputable enought to do this with me paying only a one way shipping charge. I got the guitar back and with the Wilkenson Trem, and I only have to re-tune once or twice every 30 songs or so and I have much better sustain. My advise is to stay away from Floyd Rose Trems and save yourself some real tuning headaches.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Synyster SYN Custom Limited Electric Guitar:

Great guitar really! However the floyd rose does go out much more often then I would like. The frets are big and the nick is thin great for any shredding with great tone and clarity... Also This guitar is not in the "Afterlife" video it is in the "Beast and The Harlot"
