Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Ultra-VI Electric Bass Guitar:

I bought this with the intent to immediately take the bass strings off and slide some Baritones on there and use it as an A Standard baritone. I fully anticipated little design hiccups like the binding not being even, maybe some dings. But I gotta say I couldn't find any. The finish was perfect. The binding looks as good as I've ever seen. I still can't find anything wrong with it aesthetically.

I fiddled around with the bass set before I took them off, and it sounded fine. I'm not an expert on bass tone but with the switching setup I'm sure even the geeks could find something.

There was a little bit of buzz but honestly it's a bass guitar that was shipped across ten states in two days. If anything, it should have sounded like a can of bees. But it was very minimal, easily fixed.

Very comfortable to play, frets are dressed as smooth as could be. Tuning holds VERY tight, which is surprising with baritone strings. I have no idea how Schecter is making money on these because honestly I would expect to pay double the price for the product I got. I made peace with the possibility of issues at this price point but I am very happy to say that it's near flawless. If you want a baritone guitar but can't find one for less than a grand, buy this thing and change the strings. No baritone I've ever played comes close.

My only complaint is the lack of color options! But I'll live.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Ultra-VI Electric Bass Guitar:

This is really a great instrument. It's sleek, but has a good weight to it. The neck is surprisingly slim and fast with great action out of the box. The pickup/switch configuration is perfect for this sort of bass. You can still get a traditional bass sound (albeit trebly) with the use of the neck/middle pickups, but tear up a low guitar sound with the bridge. Plus all of the pickups can be tapped, so it gives you the opportunity to really add texture to different configurations. I can't really think of many cons to this product. The one I do notice is that if the volume is not at full or null there is a slight hum, but that may just be my model, and can probably worked around with a little elbow grease. Overall, one of my favorite instruments I've ever purchased. 5 Stars!
