OVERVIEW

A bright sounding cutaway dreadnought with flamed maple back and sides.

The Seagull Artist Series Cameo is an acoustic dreadnought guitar that matches solid flame maple back and sides with a select solid spruce top. This guitar also features a high-gloss custom polished finish. The result is a bright sound with lots of projection. The guitar's compound curve top was originally developed for the Seagull Artist Series guitars and it is in these models that the new design really proves itself.

Sound and feel are where the new Artist Series guitars really distinguish themselves. The clear bottom end response arrives with plenty of punch and provides a suitable foundation to the harmonically rich sound that sits on top.

Seagull Artist Series luthiers choose from the very best luthier-grade, solid cedar and spruce tonewood boards. In fact, all of the tone woods for the Artist Series are hand-selected to ensure that the very highest standards are met. The guitar's scalloped bracing is designed to such precise tolerances that it requires a CNC milling machine to carve the individual pieces to the exact specifications. The finished guitars speak with incredible clarity and character — and that's before they open up. These guitars develop an even deeper character when 'played-in' and will no doubt become lifelong companions to those who choose them.

These guitars will look familiar to Seagull enthusiasts: the straight-pull headstock remains—now adorned with a new 'Artist' logo —and the standard Seagull body shape has been altered only slightly with a narrower waist. All models are made with solid backs and sides. The impact of solid sides on the sound of a guitar is virtually immeasurable.

WOW - bright, unique, top of the line!

By livinandlovingit

VERY impressed with this guitar. Purchased because I wanted the sound of one of those "Big Guys" (Gibson, Taylor, Martin, etc) for a lesser price. Hand crafted....that's pretty cool. Bright sound, great for all-acoustic stuff...but sounds really nice plugged in, too. I am completely satisfied with this guitar!

Artist Cameo CW QII

See all my reviews

I own a D28 Martin and a Materbuilt Epiphone, The Martin has a little more low end throat but this, the artist Cameo CW QII guitar has a classic Heringbone inlay around sides and across back, high polish solid spruce top and tusq nut and comp. saddle. What more can you ask? Tone is very nice and sweet, typical tone of solid curly maple sides and back. Plays great, luv it. this will be my main guitar for a while.

A very Average guitar

I have owned Seagulls and to be honest I sold them all within a year of purchase because they were just okay guitars. I was searching for something to keep and this guitar is seemly average, nothing special just boring average with average quality and average tone and average playability
