This is an incredible guitar. I couldn't be happier with it. It has a solid spruce top, a rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and solid mahogany back, neck and sides. It also has a High-Gloss Custom Polished finish. The guitar is beautiful. The tone is incredible and the action is great. The little mic inside can be turned on for more projection and power, and you can turn it off for a warmer more intimate feel while still amplifying the sound. The neck is great, and it feels amazing to play. The wood that this guitar is made of ages beautifully. This means that the more you play it, the better it sounds. It's something that makes Seagulls last a lifetime. I love everything about this guitar from the Quantum II pickup system to the tapered headstock (which makes your guitar stay in tune longer and it also makes it easier to tune). Godin is a wonderful company, and the Seagull Artist Series are truly top of the line instruments that are affordable for the average musician. This is a truly excellent instrument.
All the acoustic guitars I had previously bought were Alvarez guitars, simply because it was one of the few brands I trusted in craftsmanship and quality. I went to a local guitar store looking for another Alvarez, but was suggested this Seagull guitar by the store owner, and when I played her, she sounded amazing and was incredibly comfortable to play. Plugged in, she blew me away with the I-Beam duet electronics - the sound was clear and pure, and can be modified between the two pick-ups to get just the right sound you're looking for. Not to mention the craftsmanship on the guitar was simple but gorgeous. He gave me a great price and I took her home, quite pleased. Even a Taylor $1000 more could still be rivaled in sound by this guitar. My only complaints is that she lacks a built-in tuner and is a little difficult to restring, but that has nothing to do with the overall performance, which is definitely worth the price. Oh and she also oddly lacks a strap pin, so have it installed before you leave the store.
