OVERVIEW

Flagship model boasting rosewood and spruce with exceptional electronics.

Many luthiers consider the combination of rosewood back and sides with a spruce top to be the standard that all other wood combinations are measured against. The Artist Studio model is the flagship of the series. Rich sound with ample dynamics and projection this guitar is equally at home on stage and in more intimate fully acoustic settings. This guitar is also an exceptional choice for recording.

Godin Quantum II Electronics
The Godin EPM Quantum II acoustic guitar system provides outstanding sound reproduction and performance. The Quantum II is a hybrid system combining an exceptionally responsive saddle transducer and high-quality electret microphone in a simple, but very effective, configuration. The microphone capsule, specifically designed for use in this application, is mounted at the end of a 6" flexible boom integral to the side mount electronics. Four rotary controls adjust microphone presence/phase, overall volume, and saddle transducer bass & treble.

Microphone signal can be added and blended either in phase or out of phase with the saddle transducer signal. This allows the user to cancel (or notch) potentially undesirable frequencies while accentuating others. This flexibility in combining signals results in outstanding clarity and richness of tone.

The Godin QII also includes a built-in high-quality digital chromatic tuner with LED display.

Includes Deluxe TRIC case.

Comments about Seagull Artist Studio QII Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar:

Could have better factory attention to detail and set-up. Tuning knobs weird greenish yellow. Back, top, and neck wood are knotty/gnarly but very nice. Needs the right strings to play/sound best. Not a good guitar for beginners or small, weak hands. Best value for the $$. If you have more than $3000 to spend, get a Martin or Gibson etc,.

Comments about Seagull Artist Studio QII Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar:

Just to remove any confusion this is not a short scale it is 25.5" scale. Listed as 1.8" consider it 1 ¾ it feels and plays as such. 6/64 and 5/64 action out of the box. I could lower it, lots of saddle but I don't want to it feels great. Neck angle is perfect.

It is not a Martin or Taylor but those are not this either. If you love the Martin sound then a Taylor won't give it to you and this won't either. This is very nicely balanced. It is ever so slightly (tiny) reduced Dreadnaught is very nice if it takes anything off the "Dread" it adds some improvement in fingerstyle. It makes it "balanced". Very nice for recording as the "slight" reduction in boominess is great when recording. I also must say that I can get plenty even too much of bass/boominess with a very slight pickhand position change. I can't tell it being any different than a standard Dreadnaught but I have even read on Seagulls site it is slightly smaller. So it might be a 1/4" here and almost 1/2" there. You can't tell without a tape measure. And the reduced bass is more from reading a few others comments. It is anything but obvious but I would agree that with over close comparison a D28 might thump a bit more.

The appointments are of the D28 variety. Herringbone inlays (rosette/binding) and Ebony fingerboard. The electronics are outstanding. A dual source, UST with an internal mic directed toward sound hole. Some ability to adjust the mic position. It has the classic sound of Spruce and Rosewood. Some call it a mid scoop. The clear highs/lows and a "dark" mysterious tone. Those tone characteristics it shares 100% with the best of those made with these woods.
