A compact guitar with a surprisingly big sound.
Using computer modeling to optimize the internal bracing and soundhole design, the Seagull Grand represents an intriguing mix of traditional and innovative elements. Solid cedar top produces a very warm tone that's perfect for vocal accompaniment. Back and sides of environmentally-friendly wild cherry wood, produce a sound somewhere between the mellow tone of a mahogany and the bright resonance of maple. It's also an ecologically friendly choice. Silver leaf maple neck.
- Solid cedar top

I am a fan of smaller guitars and this one is small. The sound, however, is not.If you're looking for a guitar that is so comfortable to play that you never want to put it down, this one's for you. If you're looking for a VERY nicely built guitar with a solid top, this one's for you. If you're a fingerpicker, this one's for you. If you like deep, booming base, buy a dread. Great company, great materials, my favorite guitar, by far.
Seagull guitars are awesome. I have played many of them and they never let me down. Out of all the models this is the one a ended up buying. Awesome tone, great feel, small package. It's just so much fun to play.
For the past 8 years or so I have played Martin guitars and I can honestly say that this Seagull plays easier and sounds just as good as any martin or taylor. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this guitar. No buzz, perfect action, beautiful harmonics, big sweet sound and nice looking wood.
Wonderful to know that such quality for so little money is still available in a stateside product. Not the booming sounds of a dreadnought, obviously, but very clear and sweet. Good for fingerpicking, and SO comfortable to hold. Highly recommended. I will buy one of the new ones with built-in electronics, as well.
I've had mine for 3 years and it has gotten better and better with age. Bass has deepened and the highs have grown cleaner and clearer (this may also have something to do with the bone saddle I added and string ramps I cut.) You would not believe the volume this little box generates. On the four high strings, it equals or perhaps outdoes a 35-y.o. D-18 I play next to sometimes. It can't equal that deep resonant bass, but I wouldn't really want it to, given my playing style. One drawback is the soft cedar top with thin matte finish. Mine already looks looks a lot older than that D-18 I mentioned earlier. Oh well.
I bought this guitar for travel & practice, my main accoustic is a Martin JC40, I now find myself using the Seagull more than the Martin, ,this little guitar has a big sound and is a joy to play, great value also!!!!
This little guitar has a beautiful sound. It was gorgeously crafted. I own one, and I can't say a single bad thing about it. Don't worry about its small size. It is surprisingly loud when played with a pick or with ones fingers.
I bought this Seagull Coastline Grand to replace an S6-Spruce Seagull dreadnought that I had been playing for about 6 years. The Coastline Grand is a SMALL guitar with a BIG sound. Is the most comfortable guitar I've ever played and does not sacrifice the great sound typical of Seagull guitars. The highs are beautiful and the lows are leveled out and not overpowering like in a dread. The cherry wood used on the sides and back are gorgeous. The cream binding and detailed headstock (with the 'Seagull' signature) add even more class to this very affordable guitar. Nice tuners, easy to play neck, and quality bridge with good action all provide for a high quality product. If you are looking for a great guitar at a great price that you'll love to play, give this one a try!
I bought my 1st one of these as a travel guitar several years ago, and immediately fell in love with it as my main axe. I put a LR Baggs system in it and cant believe how good it sounds & feels (very comfortable size too) I now have two of them and will probably buy a third with the QIT system. Honestly I cant say enough about what a great guitar this is and I've owned hundreds!!!
This is my first acoustic guitar and I have to say I am very pleased with what I have gotten for my money, this is a very good guitar. Some people my be fooled by the small size of this guitar but when you sit down and play it the sound is at the perfect volume, it can even be louder than some of the bigger acoustics iv have heard. My one complaint is that the soft cedar top is very easily dented or scratched, I already have a small mark on it and ive only been playing it for a day. Despite this, I think you would be hard pressed to find a better acoustic for the price.
