Seagull

Stage ready, fun to play, with a great burst finish!

The guitars that make up the Seagull Coastline series represent one of the world's outstanding values in acoustic guitars. The back and sides of the Coastline series models are made from a three-layer lamination of wild cherry wood. With a sound that lands somewhere between the mellow tone of a mahogany guitar and the bright sound of maple, wild cherry has proven itself to be an excellent tone wood. Grown locally, wild cherry is also an ecologically friendly choice. Coastline series guitars feature very smooth necks made from Silver Leaf Maple.

There is something classic about a sunburst finish on an acoustic guitar and it has always been a popular choice. The burst finish exudes some of the flash of the various brightly colored acoustics that are available these days but does so using earthy colors that retain the natural look of wood.

The Godin EPM Quantum acoustic guitar system is simple in design and outstanding in performance. This single source system features an exceptionally responsive saddle transducer carefully matched to side mount electronics with rotary volume, bass, and treble controls. The electronics and controls are packaged in a small and easy to use format complemented with a finely crafted pewter cover plate. In combination with the transducer, the EQ control range and frequency content have been specifically contoured to provide a very rich and full sound reproduction resulting in performance seen only in far more complex systems.

The neck and the feel of the guitar are incredible.  It's really a joy to play.

Value:

I played a room full of expensive acoustics, most of them costing over $1000, and I loved the Seagull the most, with no close seconds.  Unplugged and plugged in, it was very smooth and full, but always clear.

Overall:

This is my favorite flat top.  I've played Martins, Taylors, Gibsons, etc, and I would take my Seagull over any of them.

Features:

The electronics on this guitar sound great!  This is the first acoustic electric I have ever owned that you didnt have to spend the whole sound check trying to EQ it.  Very nice, natural acoustic sound and tone when plugged in.

Value:

Before I bought this guitar I played Martins, Taylors, and Gibsons that cost 2 to 3 times much more and this guitar blew them all away.

Overall:

This guitar is beautiful.  The sunburst finish is very nice and gets quite a few compliments when I am playing out.  I read one review on here that said that this guitar has a higher sound that really cuts through, but mine does not.  It has a nice, deep, rich acoustic sound plugged in that sounds great when strumming and doing rythym guitar.  I play in an acoustic group and we both use seagull guitars.  The other guy I play with has one of the performers with the maple top, which also sounds good, but if you want that deep, rich, natural acoustic sound while plugged in this guitar cant be beat!

Great guitar for the money

Overall:
I have had this guitar for about a year.  Build quality is excellent, as one would expect from Seagull.  My guitar teacher, who plays mostly Martin Acoustics, is also a Seagull fan.  While this guitar doesn't have the bass response of many high end (Martin) guitars, the mids and trebles just sing.  Great for fingerstyle.  I lowered the strings at the saddle on mine and it made it much more playable.  Harmonics at the 12th fret just ring out on all 6 strings.  The matte finish on the neck, once broken in from playing, becomes glossy and is super comfortable.  Stays in tune forever.  Highly recommended.
