Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Yeah, I know it's a cardinal sin not to play a guitar before buying, but between online reviews, demos and MF's customer satisfaction guarantee, I decided to bite the bullet and ordered one.

It's hard to believe that this thing is priced as reasonably as it is, considering its construction and features.

    - What a super job of packing Godin does. The entire body of the guitar was encased in what looked like a bulletproof jacket made of really rugged bubble wrap. Most amazing job of packing an instrument I've ever seen.

    - Out of the box, everything was perfect. Great craftsmanship on both the guitar itself and its set-up. The action is nice and low, with absolutely no fret buzz.

    - Some may not like the semi-gloss finish, not only for looks but fear of the guitar getting scratched easily. I think it's great, and never leaves my studio so I'm not worried about damage.

    - I played it unplugged, and was blown away by its tone and projection. Without strumming very hard at all, this thing is loud, and sounds wonderful.

    - I plugged it into a 10w Marshall amp turned up halfway, on the clean channel of course. After setting the tone on the guitar's pre-amp to my liking at low volume, I also turned it up about halfway.

Oh no! The sound was really low and fuzzy. A light went on over my head and I tested the battery, which was nearly dead. With a new one, I had my wife in the room yelling at me to turn it down after 5 minutes... Volume test passed with flying colors! More importantly, the tone is great plugged in as well.

    - Direct line-in to my mixer for recording is awesome. No more screwing around with miking, YAY!

Bottom line, if you're looking for a modestly priced yet all-around excellent acoustic guitar, don't hesitate... Buy this thing! I couldn't be happier with it.

Oh yeah, if anyone wants to buy a used Ovation, just let me know because mine is about to get really lonely. ;^)

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I couldn't afford my dream guitar and was hard pressed to justify its cost , regardless.... It starts with a T and was a 3 series. I grabbed a gull, but, a different model..... Unfortunately I couldn't track down the specs anywhere..... Turns out it was the wider neck profile..... Great guitar but not for my hands..... MF was amazing as far as an exchange. I had my sights set on this model , but , never had a hands on with it. Other gulls , but not this one.... I was at GC and it was there with a 2 series T guitar which was rosewood and spruce at double plus the cost. I did a side by side . They were nearly identical across the board. A little give and take. But very minor and it was really an even up . Vague differences none of which were bad. Although I leaned towards the gull in tone a tiny bit more. Then consider price. I went gull. I am so happy with this guitar its insane.... Inspirational right out of the box. Perfect in every way . It a great all around player. It can accommodate any playing style. Not too tight or loose. Specs are awesome. Super balanced and VERY resonant . But not too much of any one thing. Just nice and balanced. Yet alive with plenty of character. I have a tendency to be snobbish about some things although that's been changing over the years. I was initially snobbish when I thought about going gull. So happy I did ... And if it were lost, stolen, or suffered a catastrophic mishap..... I wouldn't think twice... I would replace it..... Buy with absolute confidence....

I owned a Seagull S6 Original since 1999 but sold it last year. I missed it so I decided to buy this one. The price was right and it sounds as good as my old Seagull. I really like the finish, cutaway, and built in tuner.

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Buying an acoustic guitar is fun but it sure isn't easy. With hundreds of models and variances in model numbers, I bought 8 acoustics and played them all. My living room floor was covered with guitars from Breedlove, Martin, Takamina, Fender, Epiphone, and Seagull. I kept going back to the Seagull and comparing every other guitar to that one.

I credit the Seagull's warm, full tone to its cedar top. It plays silky as any acoustic at any price range in GC's acoustic room. It also loves Ernie Ball Earthwood strings. Try a set. You might really like them, especially tuned to Eb.

It sounds amazing by itself so I don't plug it in to a pre-amp. I go straight to the board to get the purest tone. BTW, Godin's customer service is exceptional as well. It's fast and easy to get to a knowledgeable person.

Over the past couple decades, I've gone through a lot of gear. Now I'm down to 6 electrics, 4 amps, and just 1 acoustic. My Seagull is irreplaceable and there is no '2nd best' or even a backup.

Happy playing everybody. Share the joy of playing music with a child.

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I went to Guitar center with the intention of buying a cheap acoustic/electric guitar while on a tight budget. I was alone in the sound proof acoustic room and started playing literally all of the guitars. I eventually picked this one up even though it was a little out of my price range. I played it and absolutely fell in love with it over all of them. The back of the neck feels like it was sanded extremely smooth and there is never any friction with your hand matter how long you play. The sound is amazing and the strings are so easy to push down (without there ever being buzzing) that i was blown away for it being an acoustic guitar. I also played a $2500 Martin acoustic and this was honestly very similar to the way it felt and played, and similar to how it sounded. I went into the store expecting to buy a cheaper guitar but held off until I could buy this one.

Eventually i bought the guitar on this site refurbished to save some extra money. Shipping was very fast and free. I was expecting maybe some wear on the guitar, anywhere, but I could not find any WHATSOEVER. The thing looked brand new and had a hand-marked check list of various people all signing off on different parts of the guitar passing inspection (im assuming the new ones get this inspection too).

Overall I am SUPER happy with this guitar and the easiness and playability of this guitar I believe has helped me tremendously.

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I tried out several acoustic/electric guitars in the Seagull's price range before deciding on the Entourage. I have two Godin solid-body electrics, so the smaller neck profile immediately felt like home. I'm a bit concerned about the matte finish on the body (already dreading the first ding), but the build quality is good. And the guitar sounds fantastic acoustically.

The pewter control panel for the tuner/EQ is a nice touch. I haven't plugged into a PA yet, but I like how the Entourage sounds through a Roland Cube amp.

            The not-so-good:

            1. When I received the guitar, the string action at the nut was unusually high, making it hard to play open-position chords. My solution was to remove the GraphTech nut (did I just void the warranty?), sand it down on the bottom side, and glue it back into place. Now open-position chords are much easier to fret, and the intonation has improved significantly, especially when using a capo. That said, I shouldn't have had to do this sort of basic setup/quality control work myself.

            2. Why the single Schaller locking strap post (with no corresponding strap-lock provided)? And why the oversized rear strap post (which also functions as an output jack) that won't accommodate a standard guitar strap without having to modify the strap for a proper fit?

With a better factory setup, I would have given this guitar 5 stars.

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

First off, I played numerous Seagull guitars at the local guitar shops, Seagull tone is fantastic, I do not think you can get a better sounding guitar for the money. My issues are that Seagull's fit and finish seems to be hit and miss. I currently own an SWS series and like it so much I decided to purchased this item as more of a kick-around buddy, take outdoors and traveling. I also wanted a cedar top for a little different sound than my SWS Mini Jumbo HG, which again, I love. The first Entourage Rustic I received had poor fit and finish. Sounded great, but it looked like a high school shop project. I do not know how it made it out of the factory. I sent it back for exchange. New one came, nice... finish was decent, sides to binding fit o.k., (was one of the many problem on the first one). The exchange item did have a large sliver of brace material floating around inside the body. I performed an inspection and found no broken braces. I will have to loosen the strings to get a better look. If I find anything wrong it is going back, again. The tone on this guitar is real nice, intonation and sustain are good, and action is decent, a bit higher than I like, but good for an acoustic strung with 12s. My overall impression; great tone and smooth neck, very playable guitar. My big fault with Seagull is the quality control, but the tone is sooooo nice. Seeing that sweet tone is the guitarist quest and Seagull seems to have that nailed at a fraction of the cost, (I sold my solid wood Martin with no regrets), I would recommend to buy one of these and swap it out if you are not happy with the construction. MF customer service has been great.

Comments about Seagull Entourage Rustic CW QIT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

If you're looking for a high-quality acoustic-electric cutaway with the possibility to perform, then look no further.

When I first started learning guitar, I bought a Seagull S6 Entourage Acoustic Guitar Rustic Burst (reviews speak for itself).

After a few years, I desired a cutaway with electronics. Knowing the quality of Seagull, there was no other choice. A Taylor is too expensive and anything else just isn't worth the risk.

Literally, THE only qualm about this instrument is the back of the fretboard (comparing it to my older Seagull). On my old Seagull, the back feels like a higher quality wood, whereas this almost feels like a laminate. I only notice the difference when I play the Oldie, then play this one straight after. This is just me being OCD. Actually, I find my thumb slides better on this one.

I can't say much for performing, but I listened to someone who had the same exact instrument. He had no problems.

My friends always complement the look and sound.
I've only heard good things about Seagull guitars.

I had and epiphone guitar and I wanted to upgrade. It was between this and the Epi Masterbilt. I'm really glad i went with this one. When i received it in the mail the finish was even nicer than expected. I was also kind of worried that i wouldn't even be able to tell a difference between that and my epiphone. But i played them side by side with the Seagull right out of the box and it had a much fuller sound.

I've had the guitar for two weeks and the only complaint i have is that they used the input jack for the strap holder so its much bigger and makes it hard to get your strap over top of it. And that only bothered me the first time i had to get my strap on. now it doesn't even matter
