A rich, mellow spruce & mahogany 12-string dreadnought.
The Maritime Spruce 12 Gloss is a 12-string dreadnought acoustic guitar that features a high-gloss custom polished finish. This finish provides excellent protection yet is extremely light and elastic. This is a crucial point in both the sound of the guitar and its ability to age — a thick finish muffles a guitar's vibration and blocks aging.
Seagull Maritime series guitars are made with mahogany back and sides. Generally speaking, mahogany back and sides produce a mellower sound than other tone woods. Maritime series Seagull guitars feature a unique lamination of mahogany on each side of a center layer of wild cherry. This results in a sound with slightly more highs than a typical mahogany guitar.

I received this guitar as a gift for my birthday. My original plan was to buy an Epiphone DR-2 12 string guitar that I had played in-store. My parents, however, decided that once they had gotten to the guitar shoppe and the air-suspension had gone out on their vehicle that there would be no more shopping around. Thank God for this. The store they went to did not have the Epiphone model that I was looking for -- however I previously had bought one of the Godin Seagull artist series 6-string Electrocustic guitars and they saw that there was a 12 string of similar build and value. Upon playing this guitar for the first time, all of the other brands I had played paled in contrast. The rich and mellow tone in combination with easy action is extremely desirable.
