Comments about Seagull Maritime SWS High Gloss Acoustic Guitar:
This is one of the best guitars I have ever played in this price range. It has great volume and great bass response as well as a very good treble response. The action is great and is a very easy playing guitar. The only thing this guitar is missing is a pickup sytem which is not hard to install. I would recommend this guitar to any one wanting to upgrade to a intermediate or even a profesionl level guitar. I sove it.

I started with a Fender DG8S and the neck was very small for my hands. I should say that I was a begineer and of course when you start no guitar sounds great. I went back to the store and they suggested a Seagul because it had a much wider neck. It was great for me as I could finally play chords that were very hard to play with an smaller neck.I love the guitar. The quality of the instrument is great and most importantly sounds excellent. I tried many more guitars at the store, but for the price of this guitar there is nothing that came close. I added a LR Element piazzo pickup and it sounds great. When the store added the pickup I asked them to look at the action as I thought it was a bit to high. They lowered the action and now I can really play all the neck with great results.

I have had many guitars before and I could not believe the sound of this guitar. Wether it be strumming or fingerstyle, it performs wonderfully. Did I mention the sound?? Seriously, this guitar will rival any other in its class thatg is close. It has a sweet Sprice top with beautiful Mahogany, all solid. Playability is second to none. I have recently, within the last month, purchased a Martin D-16GT and thought that was the cats meow until I played this Maritime SWS HG. Compared the over and over again, and the MAritime had a more balnced sweet sound, especially when playing fingerstyle. The Martin had a sweet tone, but not for double the price, and this thing beats it hands down. Sorry MArtin, I still do love your guitars, and still own one. Do yourself a favor; before plunking down thoousands of dollars for a high end named acoustic, check this out first, I think you will be quite surprised.
