Seagull

A solid top acoustic at a great price.

The left-handed Seagull Original S6 is an acoustic guitar that boasts a super comfortable slim neck and a solid cedar top. Speaking of beauty, you'll love the finish on this Seagull guitar: a deep, rustic burst—honey toward the center, almost chocolate at the edges, with the rich red cedar shining through it all. And as with all Seagull guitars, the finish on the left-handed S6 dreadnought is thin enough to allow your tonewood to naturally age, getting better and better over time.

Overall:
I've been playing the same S6 for over 20 years now. Distinctly warmer than a Yamaha, I've used it beside Martins and Alvarez Yairis without sounding worse for the comparison. The fingerboard is comfortably wide enough for clean arpeggios while thin enough for good chording, the tone is clear without being harsh, and the low end agreeably round. At first I wasn't really taken with it but everyone else thought it sounded great, and it records really well (one reason I've kept it). When it came to buy a 12-string, I bought a Seagull because I liked this so much. Warning - Light satin finish breathes nicely, but dents easily with fingernails (so don't poke at it!). Just wipe it clean after you play & yours won't look as beat up as mine does now. I would definitely buy another if this were stolen (and keep it cleaner :)
