While I've only been playing guitar seriously for roughly four months, I've owned this guitar for around half a year. Coming from a beginner, my word may not be credible, but let me tell you -- this axe is simply amazing for the price. I haven't compared many pick-ups in my time as a guitarist, though they blow my uncle's Gibson out of the water. When I received mine, the action was alright, but I ended up adjusting them after slapping some Hybrid Slinkies on the guitar. My tone knob is currently, well, really loose, but it's nothing that can't be fixed. As well, the port for the amp plug came loose, so I had to unscrew the shielding and then rescrew it back on after pulling the plug back out of the guitar. Again, nothing that can't be fixed. There aren't any notable scratches either; just minor ones. The neck is great, though it isn't as smooth as I'd like it to be. Just loosen up your hand a bit and you should be able to slide down the neck without a problem.Either way, this is a great guitar for beginners, intermediate players, and even the hot-shot expert guitarists, so long as you don't need a guitar with a whammy bar. This guitar is better than most Ibanez I've played, and was much better than my uncle's four thousand dollar Gibson.

My daughter REALLY wanted this axe for her first electric, so I bought one without trying it out first. What a letdown. When I took it out of the box, the front pickup's two screws fell out. No problem though, I put them back in. I tuned the guitar, but the chords still sounded out of tune. I figured it was because the strings were new, so I just kept tuning it every time I played it for the first few days. It still sounded out of tune, so I took it to my local guitar shop. My tech took a look at it, and said the fingerboard was slightly warped, like a roller coaster. So for a small fee he's going to make it play right.Customer service from this site did offer to replace the guitar when I called them about it, but I figured I might just get another dud. Aside from the warped fingerboard and loose screws, the guitar sounds good. But it's definitely not for playing while sitting down; the sharp corners dig into your leg pretty fierce.

Paul Stanley

By Mike-za6Kn

I got this guitar a year ago for my birthday and I was thrilled as soon as i got it, the pickups were a little loose but I fixed that. Amazing sounding guitar, great looks, my only problems are that the knobs are all falling off and it's very off balance. All in all its a good buy for its price.

EXCELLENT guitar

By Cole-WUF33

from Green Bay, WI

I really love this guitar. It is my 3rd and by far my favorite. I had none of the problems mentioned earlier. It may dig a bit into your leg, but that is only if it is resting wrong. If you have it properly placed, it feels as comfortable as any Strat. I also own an Ibanez fake Strat (can't remember the name) and a no-name guitar. I love the sustain and it works extremely awesome with my setup (BOSS DS-1 Distortion, Dunlop original Crybaby, and 10-Watt Peavy amp, almost all of which I got from here. I also have 2 excellent cords and a LiveWire which I also got here). Excellent product and awesome sustain. Some people say that it's all looks, but it works a ton better than most of the other tried-and-true guitars that I have played. I summary, BUY IT!

Top Quality for VERY LITTLE MONEY!

By Jonny D

from Mechanicville, NY

I bought this as my first guitar and I have to say, I am pleased! I shopped around for a while, comparing features of guitar starter packs and such. The quality was typically horrible. I stumbled upon this beautiful contraption and the rest is history. I put together a starter package for myself from here for about the same as your average department store electric guitar kit... and WOW is all I have to say. If I didn't tell anyone how much I paid, they would NEVER be able to guess. The only issues I have are how unbalanced the strap is, and the fact that the input jack was VERY loose (so much that the 1/4" cable just fell out when playing.) but that is no big deal to anyone with a half a brain, just unscrew the jack and bend the tab down. NOW, if I move the strap button elsewhere, it will be nearly perfect.

Very nice

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

When I took it out of the box, the front pickup's two screws fell out. No problem though this happend to one other person. The guitar itself looks sweet. sounds sweet. is sweet. Fixed it up at a local shop and now i'm rocking. Can't beat it for the price. You gonna need a pretty big bad though cause the end is very wide. Also it does not dig into your leg, you can play it sitting down, I don't find it heavy or unbalanced.

great guitar

By johnny-DYVjn

I got this guitar and I love it!!It looks cool sounds cool and great distortion!!But same thing I had to put the pickups on myself and the neck weighs like 10 more pounds then the guitar which makes it unbalanced and hard for sliding and playing standing up.This is a very awsome guitar and thats all I haved to say about it.

its decent!

By tweaker-0xF_F

from my own private Idaho

Yes, its heavy. Yes, its unbalanced. Yes, one humbucker was flopping around and a mounting screw needed restarting. But: the paint job is excellent, the neck is straight and thin (~3/4") with fat frets that are finished very smoothly - very easy to play, the action is low with no buzzing, the pickups are screamers (they sound as good or better than my Epi flying-V and my Godin), and it sustains for days. I love to play this thing! Really a great deal. (BTW it plays well sitting, and you can put the lower point of the guitar body against your inner leg when you stand)

I got this Beautiful looking guitar today. Holy Crap! This is awesome! I ask you. How can it get any better? For one thing Paul Stanley from KISS. How rocking is that? It plays great, looks cooler than hell Sounds awsome clean and distorted way out! Guess I gotta get the case now, as none of my other cases fit the big ass end. Not that I am complaining. Cool axe!

Screaming Leads

By youreverydaycj

from Carmel, Indiana

I just got this thing 4 days ago and I cant put it down! I run it through a Boss ME-50 either to a mixing board or a Fender 15 watt amp. It totally screams. The tone is otherworldly, and the action is amazing. Only complaint is i had to install the pickups myself, there was 1 screw off on both of them. The only thing missing is a whammy, but its no big deal. Thats amazing.
