Comments about Squier Bullet Mustang HH Rosewood Fingerboard:

When these were first announced, I knew I'd end up buying one. And I eventually did. The fit and finish is pretty amazing for this price. The neck is very comfortable and easy to play. The super short scale took some getting used to, but adds to the overall playability once you get used to it. The body is thin and very light, and is nice when you have a sore back. The stock pickups are ok. The bridge sounds good with gain, but the neck is only good with clean. I replaced them with a Seymour Duncan JB bridge and an Epiphone Alnico Classic neck. The electronics are cheap and will wear out with a lot of use, so I swapped out pots and switch with better stuff while I had it open. The nut was cut funny on mine, pinching the high E string so it sounded dead when played open. The tuners work fine. The bridge is pretty rough. LIke others, I had to take out a couple adjustment screws and cut them shorter so they weren't rubbing against the strings. It caused a rattle on mine. Eventually I put steel block saddles from GFS on and it was better.

Overall, I can't imagine a better starter guitar in this price range. And it also makes a great modding platform at this price.
