I've been playing guitar 52 years and have a lot of equipment and playing experiance. The Squier Deluxe
I got is a quality instrument. I hope every Squire Deluxe is well made as mine. I'm writting this review to let potential buyers know that if your looking for a stratocator that I would say rivels any of the higher end strats out there, this is your ax. I find no flaws in mine, it is a joy to play. No issues with rough frets, buzzing or fretting out. Action and intonation is good. No flaws with consmetics, my Mettalic Pearl white in a knck out. The only thing I have done is install a new set of my favorite Earne Ball Super Slinkeys, lubricated the nut slots, string trees for tuning stability and tuned it up. The Duncan Design SC101's have a good classic fender tone but have a pesonallity all their own, IMHO---in a good way--Alnico 5 magnets. I reinterate, I'm judging the deluxe based on what's in front of me and I hope if you do buy this one you will be blessed as I was on getting a good one.

This guitar was listed as a "Scratch & dent" item. I was expecting a cosmetic blemish. What I got was a guitar with a very obvious check/split on the back of the neck along with poor sanding. The neck pocket also had a crack. There's no way this guitar should have passed quality control. I have another Squier Affinity that was made in Indonesia and the neck is way better. I was hoping this would be a step up from that guitar. Not so. I wasted fifty GW's for shipping costs both ways, for a defective guitar that should never been sold. Never again will I buy a "Scratch & Dent" special from Musician's Friend.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I am an old school guitar player and getting back into playing...Liked a Bullet I picked up used but the fit, finish and all around sound & playability were lacking. I upgraded to the Squier Deluxe in Pearl White. The Open box special was a great deal and hardly could find anything wrong with it. It's absolutely beautiful, feels great in your hands and sounds fantastic. Can create so many sounds with these upgraded pickups and 5 way toggle. Great value Strat that plays, feels and looks far more expensive than it is. Nice job MF!

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I have a fascination for strats. Particularly maple necks and frets. Fenders at their lowest price are beyond my means.. Squire standards and deluxe's give me all the satisfaction with no sticker shock.
I believe that the 2 point tremolo bridge adds some to the sustain of a note.
I have a number of Squires and a Roadhouse. I am just a little conflicted in that
my original intention was to build up my (dream pickguard) and install it on
this new deluxe. Thing is these Duncan Designed pickups are good!
Oh yeah, there are plenty of great after market pickups that will improve
the sounds even more but,..This is my first Squire that I am hesitant to replace the pick ups on it.
Tuners...They look the same though, the write up says that they are better.
      I have no complaints.
This is one model that Iam sure to accumulate a couple more and "mod" them to where the are the to my expectations!
      Recommend them? Yep!!!

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

This thing was on sale and I got it for a great price very fast. It was not adjusted by the seller and had been setup by the Indo factory. It needed a lot of Bridge and Saddle adjustments. The neck was arrow straight. The tuners on it are 2 pin Fender look alike and can be replaced with drop in Fender Locking Tuners easily, which I'm headed towards, because they are not so great. The paint had a black dot in it like bug flew into the paint and died with it's rear hanging out. It is just a dot and the rest of the paint is perfect. I can live with it as it is in the upper C in the middle of the turn. The Duncan Designed pups are great and have a Fender quack and are a keeper for now. The packaging from the far away land it was built in had additional support for the neck as though they may have thought the heat would warp it. Squier really well protected this thing in transit with well thought out padding.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I think I ended up with the one below listed as a disappointment, as I bought this as a scratch-n-dent and it did have a hole about the size of a dime under the neck plate. However, I only wanted it for the basic design and color - white. So I bought this for about half the cost of new and honestly right out of the box I liked it. OK its a Squier and I cringe every time I look at the headstock and see the name but it is made tight and plays good. But I didn't stop there. I exchanged the following: D'Addario Palnet Waves Auto-trim (locking) tuners, cheap gold string trees, compensated brass nut, gold mirror acrylic pick guard, Carvin pick-ups & electronics, Wilkinson WVS50 tremolo, cheap gold straplocks. And while she was opened up, I shielded the cavity. Right now I would not trade this for a Fender American Stratocaster - No Way!!! (Unless of course it was set up the same way ;) - but I would match this one up against an American!) Now it is white with all gold hardware and fantastic pick-ups (the switch where the 2nd tone would normally be allows the bridge pick-up to turn on no matter where the 5 way switch is, so position one is neck (or + bridge), position 2 neck & middle (or + bridge - all three pick-ups), positions 3, 4, & 5 are standard). The Wilkinson WVS50 is the only tremolo I could find that is a direct swap for the standard two-point tremolo it comes with. The compensated brass nut (the cuts make all strings stand on their own) makes it chime out louder. I also put Dean Markley Blue Steel (coated) on her, and now she sings sweetly. All said I have less than 500 invested and though I may never be able to sell it to recoup that, it is well worth it as I probably will never need to sell her.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

This guitar did not fail to disappoint. Supposedly a level 1 returned item, it had a hole as big as a dime clear down to the wood on the heel of the guitar. Almost every fret had buzz. The Duncan designed pickups were flat and muddy sounding. Go for the Squire Standard Strat - everything great on this one!

Practice practice practice, plan to put some different pups in her down the road, for right now, I'm loving it, another "Strat" in the rack - I love them, and the quality on Squiers of late is as good as "Fender" MIM any day of the week, but it is a notable notch below American made Custom Shop pieces (but so is the price) - neck size is small - but I like it, if I'm going to be playing open chords I'm grabbing an acoustic to start with - so there you have it. Great little edition to the family.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

The first thing you'll notice is that this guitar is solid. It's actually a little bit heavier than I expected, but it's not a bad thing. The Duncan Designed pickups have a great range. I bought this guitar for surf rock, so it cleans up nicely and gives the quack. It also dirties up and sounds great through an EVH 5150 III. I really like this guitar!

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

This is the first time ever that I wanted to get a Squire. Least, I had MIM Fender Strat before. Funny thing to mention that I was waiting with sand paper to polish the frets edges thinking those will be rough to touch. But this guitar came smooth edged frets which I didn't expect at all. DD pickups are lot warmer sounding than I thought but works fine for me. First out of the box, bridge setting was all over the place. I had to set the truss rod and intonation and strings height. After all those have been set, it was a beauty to play the guitar. The neck is awesome. Even tough, I will be finishing the neck with True Oil. I got the Daphne Blue and this color played a huge role to talk myself into this Squire. I will do some upgrades of course and make this guitar to please me more than it already did.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I've owned Mexican and American Standard Strats and sold or traded them. After reading numerous reviews online, I bought this to get back the Strat tone I'd been missing. Needless to say I'm NOT disappointed. The fit and finish are flawless on this beautiful Daphne Blue guitar. Neck feels great without fret issues. Tone and Volume controls work as they should and the Duncan Designed pickups sound great. I did some minor adjustments to taste for action height and intonated the guitar, but other than that, it was pretty good right out of the box. I'm thoroughly impressed with the guitar and very pleased with the purchase!

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I recently bought a blem Squier Deluxe from MF to perform my first lefty flip. This was my first foray into the world of Fender (all other guitars have been Gibsons or Epis) and I decided flipping a Squier would be a fun project without breaking the bank.

The guitar arrived and I was expecting some nasty finish defects to justify the 30% price reduction but there were none to be found. The pearl white is beautiful and the build quality far surpasses the price point. If you can get over the fact that the headstock doesn't have "Fender" on it, you're gonna love this thing! It does everything that a Stratocaster should do AND this one already has a 22-fret neck and a super stable 2-point trem system. Trem action is silky smooth and it always seems to come back properly. After getting it all setup for left-handed playing it's been hard to put the thing down. It's got all the chime and twang you could want clean, and it dirts up nicely when you want it to.

For potential flippers, the nut slid out easily with a couple taps from a hammer and blunt nail setting spike. Then it's just a matter of getting the strap button moved to the lower horn and setting the intonation. The intonation screws in the bridge have more than enough adjustment to accommodate the flip. The whole setup job took about an hour including stringing and playing with the floating bridge springs.

What are you waiting for? Break the chains of brand snobbery and get one of these already!
