If you don't have a grand to spend on an American Strat, this will do. It's amazing how it sounds and plays.
I've been looking into buying a new Strat for a few years, I've owned the Protone Series and sadly sold it. I research this Strat before buying it, I bought the white one. First off, the finish is sparkly close up. Very impressed. The neck is so slick and smooth, I'd grade the thickness medium. Straight as an arrow to, no set up required. I have long fingers, use to bigger necks, but making my way around that. The tremolo was set a bit high, but I had a bone nut and 10's put on it, the set it lower. The pickups are chimy, fat and warm. I'd replace the bridge pickup though, more treble than I'd like.
I doubt you'll find a Strat for this perice that out performs this. I've owned two Squier before this, great starter guitar as well.
I'd gig with this with confidence. Very dependable, very road worthy. Worth every dime.

Well, I'd love to be able to give a full review on this Squier Deluxe Strat...however, the one that I recieved was defective: The 2 bridge pins that the bridge/tremolo rest against were drilled into the body at angles, this resulted in the whole bridge assembly being cocked, and further being non-tunable...:-( Very dissapointing Q & A from Squier. Anyways, Musician's Friend was quick to return the guitar. And I have no problems ordering another Squier guitar from them in the future. They are generally a great value for the money, and MF usually has a high level of service.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:
I am a professional working musician..I have owned 2 Fender Squier strats..I always wanted this particular Deluxe model..When it arrived , it looked great, but the action was way too high and would not stay in tune. I used it on two gigs and found it very diffucult to play-I took it to a guitar repair center who needed to :adjust the neck, nuts and slots,Bridge saddle height,Spring claw tension, and set the pickup heights appropriately..After these repairs were done , the Strat plays and sounds like a dream..it's a beautiful thing..

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:
I spent the vast majority of my years playing on ESP guitars and I really wanted something different to play on. I decided I had to have an all white strat with a maple fretboard. The only other two strats like this are the MIM Fender which only has 21 frets and the American Standard which is WAY out of my price range. I used a promo code and got a good price on it and have to say it was worth the money.
I don't have experience with any other strats so I can't compare directly to them, however I have read mixed reviews about this Deluxe model. Many say it's not much better than the Squier standard and that if you're gonna spend the money just go ahead and get a classic vibe series model. I will get a Standard later but for now I am really enjoying this Deluxe model.
I had to do a full setup on it because the fret buzz would choke out nearly all strings at the 15th fret. I threw on a set of DR Blues and man this thing has a beautiful classic sound. Again I wish I could compare this to the other models but for now just know that in my modest opinion it has a good sound. Not being used to Single coil pickups, I had some great fun getting familiar with them and despite the lack of a strong low end, I can still make it sound good playing metal with the right amp setup.
I use a Fender Mustang I and would like to upgrade to the II one day soon. With the right amp sound and effects it can sound almost as good in metal as my ESP with it's dual Humbuckers.
Overall, I am loving this little strat and can't wait to get my next one later on down the line. I WOULD recommend this to a friend.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:
This is a really great guitar for the money. I just purchased the Pearl White and am completely satisfied. A perfect guitar for beginers and intermediate players. No need to pay tons more for an American made unit or custom if you're not a player that demands what they can offer. I gig professionally and wanted this for my personal home use.....I made the right choice...buy one!

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:
For the money this is a great guitar. I replaced the Duncan pick ups and put Fender custom shop pick ups in it and this one plays and sounds better than my American one
Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:
Great value for the price
I am playing guitar more than 25 years and in my liftime I have played numerous strats and others.
Well this piece of instrument is exactly bang for the bucks very well made and faboulous sounding.
If you want to compromise with the branding but not the sound/Job than this is the right thing to pick.
So what are you waiting for Grab ur fav effects with it and rock n roll.
No flaws at all
The instrument in the price range
Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:
This guitar can be used professionally. Good tone and feel. It may irritate musicians who paid 900 to 1200 for American Strats and they may have negative comments, so keep the secret!
I purchased the Daphne Blue. I wish there was more color choices, but this one is growing on me. I may change the pick guard color to something wilder. The Duncan type pickups are more than adequate for great sound. Right out of the box it needed only tuned a little. Intonation seems right (I have not checked with a tuner yet). I plugged into a Fender MustangII amp with a litttle reverb and clean. Blown away how awesome for $299! A little Blues, Some Pearl Jam. It adapts great to distortion and most amp models.
The finish is perfect. The intonation was perfect. Stays in tune for the most part. I have had to retune the light strings after bending alot. This shoud improve when the strings are seasoned. The "Duncan Design" pickups are very good for the money, and can always be upgraded later. I have a Squier Standard also, and there is a big improvement in quality and sound with the Deluxe.
For $299, you definitely get more than you paid for.
Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:
The only thing I was concerned about when I ordered this was the Lake Placid Blue color. I'd love to see this offered in more colors, but once I got it and have had lots of comments about how great the color is, I decided my fears were not justified.
I couldn't be happier with this guitar. The finish is flawless. I love the blond neck, the playability, the duncan pick-ups and everything else about this model. Clearly all Strats are not the same, but this Squier model appears to be equal in every way to the higher end models aside from the logo and country of origin.
Great fit and finish.
Yes you can get a less exensive Strat, but I'm pretty well convinced you won't find a better value. Truly hits the sweet spot between quality and price.
Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:
No guitar deserves a 10 overall, but this thing comes very, very close. IMO, the CV and Deluxe models are the top of Squier's line, and which one you choose comes down to whether you want the vintage look, feel and sound (CV) or something completely modern (Deluxe). Can't go wrong with either.
Just got my Daphne Blue Deluxe yesterday. Been playing a Squier Classic Vibe 50s Tele for a while now, and was assuming I'd match it with a CV Strat, but I decided to go with the more modern design of the Deluxe. This guitar is exactly what it claims to be: a good, solid, modern Strat. I think it's better than the MIM Strat's I've tried, and if someone handed it to me and told me it was a MIA, I'd see no big reason to doubt it.
Flawless finish, nice neck, good bridge and pickups, acceptably good pots/switch/jack, decent fretwork. Stays in tune well (I have decked the bridge, so it's down only, not floating), action is low, and intonation is spot on. Only took very minor tweaks out of the box to get it that way.
Not just a good guitar for the money, but a great guitar, period. I think you'd have to spend in the four figures to get something that feels or sounds significantly better.
Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:
You get what you pay for, and this is exactly what I expected for what I paid for it. The Seymore Duncan pickups are comparable to a good quality Fender Strat pickup.
