OVERVIEW

Obey graphics by Shepard Fairey.

This Squier Telecaster Electric Guitar with graphics by artist Shepard Fairey is a must for the Obey collector, or for the rocker who wants a guitar with cool, contemporary graphics. Shepard Fairey's artwork has gone beyond skateboards to take the modern art world by storm. Underneath the Obey collage or propaganda artwork lurks a hot, high-powered Telecaster equipped with a bridge humbucker and a single coil neck pickup. Oxidized worn hardware gives this guitar the look of a veteran.

i bought this guitar because of its great looks and awesome price tag. i did have some uncertain thoughts about it tho (it is a squire) this is probably the best squire tele i have played. the bridge pickup it awesome and the neck is decent for what i do. i dropped this guitar on stage a couple days ago and it suffered a very minor nick on the top side. it didn't go out of tune at-all. this is totally worth the price if not more. when i first opened the box i pulled out the axe and held it up. perfect paint job and so shinny. the worn out control cover added a nice touch, the back of the guitar is so cool and the gloss doesn't pick up any scratches from my belt buck. very very durable. i recommend this to anyone who can a lift it b play it and c love it buy it !!!

I have had this guitar for a few months now. The jack where you plug the 1/4 cable in was loose, right out of the box as well as the volume knob (that rolled onto the floor) when I first strapped this axe on. I have several telecasters, loose plug-in jack, is a common problem with them, no biggie. The axe had several small and common problems out of the box, that a beginner might not know how to repair. Its also a really heavy guitar, when compared with my other teles or all my (30+) other guitars for that matter. The paint/artwork on the front is, only, on the front and the way the paint is edged,( where the artwork ends and the paint begins is kinda' suspect. As a seasoned 30 year player I could handle the small problems and knew what to expect from this axe. For those looking for a starter guiter, I would suggest an affinty series fender tele or strat, as I have had great "outta' the box" luck with them. Overall it looks way cool, has the standard "great" fender sounds and with some initial setup work, will serve you well for years.

Good bang for the buck

By dizkid

Just got my Squire obey tele..a scratch and dent one at that..I figure, its already got distressed hardware..why not?..Out of the box I tuned it and it played great, not a custom shop by any means. Needs some fret trim on edges, but tone and feel were all there. Well worth the money.

Obey tele is a good value

I recently purchased this guitar from Musicians friend. Over all I was pleased with the guitar. It needed to be set up because it had some fret buzz but that is to be expected on a guitar of this pricing range.Tone is good out of the box. I wanted a little more versatility so I went online to musicians friend and ordered a Gibson Angus young humbucker in the bridge and a Fender custom shop Texas special strat pickup in the neck position.I changed the tone knob out with a Gibson tonepot/push/ pull switch so I can change the humbucker from series to parallel ..Man this thing screams now and has the tone of every guitar I ever wanted .even with out these changes the guitar is a good value.Im going to buy the strat next and give it the same treatment.good luck

first of all, you cant beat the look and feel of a tele. second put sweet graphics on it and you've got one fine guitar. i just received this guitar last week. and i just ordered a second with the other set of graphics as a backup. ive played strats usually but the first tele i got made me swear to the tele gods to never play a strat again. i play instruments and this is now my second favorite to play(cant diss my bagpipes). but guitar was the first instrument i ever played so it holds a special place in my heart. ive been playing for 4 years and my father for 30. we have a recording studio in our basement so my life cant get any better.

cool graphics, cool guitar!

The graphics were what made me buy this guitar, very cool, the hardware is decent and the guitar plays well right out of the box. The only issue I had was that the guitar needed to have the saddle screws shortened so they didn't hurt my right hand while playing. The bridge pickup has lots of guts, the neck pickup is a tad on the weak side (already replaced it with a hotter one as I use the neck pickup more than the bridge pickup).

The Screamer...

I have the Propaganda Version amongst other Strats, a CV 50's Tele & Les Paul, & can only say this - Whenever I am in the mood to wreak an all-out, genuine "Sonic-Havoc" on a planetary scale, this is the one. It has the nastiest, most glorious tone & drive ever, plus it is built for speed & it is also built like a tank. So watch out Angus, her I come...!PS: Ernie Ball 2223's work the best on it.

Super solid construction and it looks amazing but there was rust on the neckplate (I guess to add to the rustic/aged look). I was completely blown away by the clarity of the single! That Humbucker has got some serious crunch to it! I bought replacement pickups to drop in this thing but I have serious reservations about that now! I have nothing bad to say about this guitar!

Very Rockin' guitar!!

By Rockboy562

from Long Beach,CA

Got this guitar about a month ago, have to say it totally rocks. I had a small problem tuning out of the box, but no big deal. Once I played it a few times, this baby burned like no other. This guitar stays in tune for days, and the sustain is for eternity. I play punk and hard rock, when I plugged in at practice, jaws dropped. I was worried at first to buy this guitar, but was well worth the money. I highly reccomend this guitar, you won't go wrong with it!!.
