I ordered this jewel from Musician's Friend's Stupid Deal of the Day. I recieved it today, and I could not be happier with a guitar of this price. The action is nearly perfect. The construction is flawless and the finish is beautiful! I own 14 other guitars from Martins to Godins, to Epiphones, and have played for 50 years. This guitar is a pleasure to play and has a very nice sound for a small-bodied instrument.

I bought this believing I was going to receive a parlor size guitar. NOT!!! At best it is a 3/4 size guitar for beginning children. Good for ages 8 and up. That being said it is a very nice, well constructed, good workmanshipped guitar. One might use it on the road for practice. I bought it as a loaner for kids who did not have a guitar as I teach beginner to intermediate classes. If you are looking for a 3/4 guitar this is very good. I think the advertising is not right on it. I would recommend only as a beginner guitar.

Comments about Squier SP1 Parlor Acoustic Guitar:

My brother who has been playing for 30 years, our lead guitarist came over, picked up this guitar that I bought for my ten year old son, after sitting with it for about an hour and a half, looked at us and said "This guitar is awesome!" He's right, it sings, and rings out, like it wants to please you with it's sound. Even when my son strums on it, the sound is always pleasing to your ears. No flaws, nice action, and stays in tune. Plays like a dream. A great blues guitar, or an excellent beginners guitar. We are thinking about buying another one, to amplify, so we can use it in our band.

Comments about Squier SP1 Parlor Acoustic Guitar:

Overall a nice parlor guitar for a good price. Quite loud with a bit of growl to the original strings. Tuners are nice and consistent. Overall a very nice guitar for the price if you don't mind the smaller "parlor" size. If you're looking for the full guitar experience, I would go with the entry level Rogue acoustic for the same price or a little less, but if you're looking for something small, this is the one!

Comments about Squier SP1 Parlor Acoustic Guitar:

Lucky enough to have the money when the Stupid deal came up. Small size makes it very comfortable and draws you into it. Action is just right for fretting or slide,(I play both). Hate to see it played down as a student guitar. Rich sound with warm highs and fuller bass than you would expect for its size. Every guitar has its own voice and if you like it then it's good for you. I am very happy with the instrument and the bang for buck. Nice finish, came well packed.

Great guitar at this pricepoint. More than I expected. The negetives were minor. The string spacing at the nut was way off.I had a bone blank and made a new one.Replaced the plastic bridge pins with bone. The fret ends were a bit sharp but a few minutes with a needle file fixed them.IT has a great sound, plays well, looks good and begs to be picked up and played.I'm very happy with it.

                Surprisingly good

Comments about Squier SP1 Parlor Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this as a knock around guitar on an impulse purchase. I didn't really expect anything from it. And I've been pleasantly surprised. I have a few guitars. And I was about to spend $350 on a Washburn Parlor to round out my stable. But this one fills that "need". I find myself grabbing this one when I'm watching TV, or I get a melody in my head. It's durable, and holds tuning pretty well. The tone is surprisingly good, plenty of volume, and nice action. I play Blues solos on it because the strings are so bendable. Can't see getting more fun out of a guitar for so little money. Inexpensive and fun. That's more than I could ask of it.
It's got the necessary parts. And the finish is nice. Not much to say here. It just works.
Whatever you'd expect for a $100 guitar, this one far exceeds that.
Can't go wrong at this price.

I love this little guitar, my 00015 Martin has been on the rack ever since I got this little gem. The short neck makes it easier to do the blues licks with a full barre chord and the trebly sound really punches thru the mix when recording. I get a really nice percussive rhythm sound and don't have to EG out the lows . Out of the box, I gave the truss rod half a turn and it was ready to go and it's been next to me on the couch ever since. The lonesome Martin was my go to guitar for 2 years now it's this little Squier; I love my Squier Telecaster too.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my grandson, now 11. It should be a good instrument for him to begin learning on. Playability is good enough for him to begin playing, where actual sound is not that important (no low end at all). Quality is OK, with some glue squeeze out on the bass side where the fingerboard is glued to the body. It is small, good for a child, but difficult for me to make certain barre chord shapes, and my hands aren't large. I'm hoping my grandson will enjoy may happy hours learning on this first guitar for him, until he's ready to move up to a serious instrument.

I was really amazed at how well built and good sounding this guitar is for the price and size. I got this for my young son. He is too little to play it yet so I play it for now. You would be hard pressed to find a guitar as nice as this for the price. I definitely recommend this guitar for couch jamming or for toting to campfires.

A great little travel or beater guitar.

I got this guitar for free from my friend who got it when he was younger and never did anything with it. I have a few nice guitars but I wanted something to just strum around the house or take on camping trips. This parlor fits the bill perfectly. It sounds good, is easy to carry around, and if you beat it up, it's no big deal to replace it. I was surprised at how good it sounds. Almost as good as my Ovation. It fits in your lap like a glove and the neck is just a joy to play. Velvety smooth. If I ever lost it, I'd go out and buy one in a heartbeat.
The body is smooth, the neck is like butter, and the tuners stay pretty well in tune.
Pretty good quality for a hundred dollar guitar. You get what you pay for and a bit more.
I'd probably pay another 50 dollars for this guitar and not be sorry about it one bit.

I just got this and it came with light strings. I could have left them on as it sounded great, but I had also bought a pack of medium d'addarios phosphor bronze and put them on. It sounds great and is easy to play. I am 5'7" but with small hands and I like playing in my easy chair so this is perfect for me. I normally set up my instruments and I was ready to set this up but the nut didn't need any filing and neither did the bridge. This would be a good alternative to the baby taylor or martin lxm. I also have a cordoba cadete (which is a classical guitar also 3/4 size), but this has a bit smaller body and a bit shorter scale. 23" scale and is steel string. Love it.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this little guitar. Very decent construction, no gloppy glue inside, finish is quite well done, ok tuning machines, clean frets, binding done quite well, stays in tune. Pretty good volume. It looks and feels good. For a very small bodied all laminate guitar it sounds ok. Really. I don't know if I caught a fluke, but even the intonation is spot on. Didn't expect that. Very good deal at the Musician's Friends price.
