OK. Considering that you get the guitar and gig bag for the price, it is a pretty good buy. Let's look at it two ways. First, if you plan to play this through an amp, you'll love it! It plays like an electric. The neck is great. The action rocks. The electronics are very good for the price. The sound is killer. BUT, if you plan to play it as an acoustic, keep in mind that it is not a jumbo and you will not get a deep, full sound. It sounds very thin and not very crisp. I have heard it compared to a cardboard box with strings. So it will depend on how you plan to use it as to whether or not it is a good idea for you to purchase it. I rated it as an 8 because it is a good deal for the money if you want it as secondary axe. If you need a Takamine, then buy a Takamine.

Plays Like a Fender

I've had this guitar for about a week now and its held up great. It plays great acoustically for its size, and electrically it has a great equalizer and volume. The one thing I changed is I put strap locks on it but that doesn't have to do with the guitar. Great deal, great guitar, great buy.

Just bought it !!

I was a bit apprehensive when trying this Startacoustic in the store...the factory strings are WAAAY to heavy for it. But I figured I could make it play pretty well by "tweeking" the setup a bit. I was right....put much lighter srings on it, gave the neck a couple quick turns with the included tool...and presto!! Acoustic sound is good but not really loud or projecting, but amp'd it sounds just great. The finish (black) of nice, neck feels good, and its very light.I'm glad I bought it!!

Proved me wrong!

This guitar proved me wrong. I had my doubts. But I had to get one. Its an amazing instrument. It really shines when plugged in and the EQ is actually amazing for an acoustic. When plugged in it has a nice, warm, acoustic sound. When not plugged in, it still sounds great. The body is not much bigger than a standard electric Tele, so the acoustics aren't huge, but IMPRESSIVE. I worried that the sound wouldn't be too strong but I was proven otherwise. I highly recommend that you pick up this guitar, the price is right!

It's alright

These guitars can be difficult. It seems as they have their own personality. Mine is nice. They dont sound that great unless they are plugged in. The acoustic guitarist in my band plays a stratacoustic. It has a cracked body, the body or neck has warped and it sounds terrible (but the player isnt to great either)The Stratocoustic is pretty old, my Telecoustic is about a year and a half or two. Both are made when they were labled Fender instead or Squier. If you need an acoustic to play live plugged in, there are better, but for they money, its good. I would highly recommend trying one out before buying.

Perfect.

I just got this guitar today. It has an amazing tone that is unlike any other acoustic guitar I've ever played. The only thing that's going to be hard is finding a case that fits it well. I have a Squier Telecaster and side by side, the bodies look nearly identical in shape and size. Sounds great plugged in and even better acoustically. Don't second guess this. Buy it.

Excellent

By J. Smiley

from Newport Beach, CA

The Telecoustic is a top-notch instrument. The feel is great overall, and I much prefer it to any other acoutsic/electric I've tried. Most importantly, though, is the sound: it's tight and clean when plugged in, and surprisingly rich when played acoustically. And on top of it all, the price is right. A little broader of an EQ would be nice, though. Wouldn't have minded some more interesting or eye-catching finishes, either. But those are minor quibbles.Bottom line: you probably need one of these, and at this price there isn't much of a reason not to get one.

I have owned this for about a year. I play it through a Fender Blues Junior. I used it in practice last week and the recording sounded better than my Strat.I play a lot of chords and pick out low notes. The little Telecoustic is almost too clear sounding to my way of thinking, but my lead player says he really likes it. I told him now I have a big problem. How do you show up to a GIG with a guitar that cost less than $300?I would say this guitar is a great buy for the money.
