OVERVIEW

A vintage-inspired beauty with sustain to boot.

With a body based off of one of the most notable guitars in history and dressed up in black, the Squier Vintage Modified ‘70s Stratocaster electric guitar looks wonderfully familiar. Squier tweaks the classic to give it a custom look and feel. Modified means adding new twists to familiar designs. Squier's Vintage Modified series excels at just that, imparting hot-output chop-shop sound, feel and value to traditional instrument designs.
.
The Vintage Modified Stratocaster electric guitar is constructed of basswood which has excellent sustain and a great resonance at mid and high frequencies. Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster '70s Electric Guitar:

I have always wanted the strat sound and feel, but did not want to fork out the cash for a MIM or American made. This guitar more than stands up to these guitars and fulfills my dream at a fraction of the price. Honestly I like the feel and sound of this one better than the MIMS. I could not be happier with this purchase.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster '70s Electric Guitar:

thank god i have the classic strat sound in my home now without breaking the bank! but how far can i go with it? the action is terrible. i couldnt set it up. it needs serious fretwork to make the frets even, to reach to a good action height. setting the saddles are very challenging too. but the truss rod is ok. the neck is good and i like the neck finish but the frets are disappointing in their current condition, i have to show them to a techie right away. tuners are not reliable, my first modification on this instrument will absolutely be the tuners! but i love the tones i can get from the pickups. classic sound with powerful output. the pots and the selector work very well. overall it looks and sounds amazing but dont play well.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster '70s Electric Guitar:

I got this for a practice Guitar. But it is two nice for that. The neck finish was so glossy on the fret board it just blew me away. Much nicer than My Limited edition Mex Strat. Setup and action were good out of the box. I did change The Strings with a new set, of the same strings that came on it, and adjust the G String saddle And B String Saddle positions were just slightly off to my liking. Pups were slightly tangy on Rhythm, But amp settings took care of that. But the lead sound was awesome on this thing. It just blew me away. The only flaw I could find on it was a small paint chip But for the Price after coupon I'm not complaining. I would buy another. I'm Not Giving it a five Star Rating, because of the paint chip. And that is the only reason I didn't give it a five. Great Bang for the buck.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster '70s Electric Guitar:

I've played 51 years. I've had countless great guitars, including a '74 Fender Strat which had a similar look. This guitar is probably the most surprising of all. I can't believe a guitar this good could be so inexpensive and it came out of the box so well put together and adjusted. It is gorgeous. The overall quality of this Indonesian Squire product indicates how seriously they value their craftsmanship. It stands on its own as a unique product. It isn't an American Fender due to materials, but it is equal in workmanship, at least mine is. Worth much more than it costs. You can't build one this good for this price.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster '70s Electric Guitar:

Got this and it sounded fantastic and played easily right out of the box. Used it at band practice and it blended nicely when playing rhythm and cut through on leads when it needed to. The action was set nice and low and the saddles came set up just the way I like. I switched out the black pick guard with the D'Andrea blue swirl pearl pick guard and it looks sharp.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster '70s Electric Guitar:

Guitar is not my primary instrument. I bought this guitar to widen my horizon a bit. I choose this Squire Vintage Modified Stratocaster '70s because of the excellent reviews and the attractive price. I was not disappointed, the guitar plays well just out of the box. I did not have to do any adjustments and the guitar was easy to tune. Although I am not a guitar guru, I think one has to spend much more money to get a better guitar. This guitar is a bargain and I recommend highly to give it a try.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster '70s Electric Guitar:

Super guitar for the price! Sound, action, feel are all 100% in my opinion. I have owned alot of guitars over the years and this one is a perfect example of what a strat should be for a small amount of cash. Its far better than any Mex strat I have owned and a favorite amoung my Squires. The acton is nice and the highgloss finish on the neck is sweet and smooth. Pickups goe from bell tone clean to nice overdriven metal tones. Get one, you wont regret it.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster '70s Electric Guitar:

I've owned around 15 guitars including American made Fenders and I've got to say this guitar is one of my favorites. The Seymour Duncan pickups cut through the mix very well while still maintaining the strat quack that we all love. I keep looking at the headstock thinking.. This is a Squier? I've retired my custom MIM Strat for this one.

I use this with my line 6 pod ux1, the fretboard is extremely smooth. there are a fair amount of hum that goes along with the pick ups (which is expected in single coils) all the parts are solidly made. the tone is very bright and crystal clear. overall this is a very nice purchase for the price.
