Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Special Electric Guitar:
I'm in my 50s and have been playing since my early 20s. In the 80s, I had to have the tricked out floating bridge guitars, but now prefer a fixed bridge. Love they way this looks, plays and sounds. I can bend strings all day and stay in tune. A couple of minor dust flaws in the finish on the back side of the body. Sounds great through my vintage Rickenbacker amp, my Fender Mustang 2 and my Peavy Backstage 110. For the price, this is solid and sweet. Played great right out of the box.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Special Electric Guitar:
I chose this axe over the vintage vibe for the set up.The 3 brass saddle bridge is perfect. The neck is very smooth. The pups are bright and clear. The tuners hold tune and look correct. I normally have to do a set up,but this was factory perfect. This is real vintage sound at a fraction of the price. I love the butterscotch blonde and tinted neck.

Love this guitar. I'm a novice, but I can get such a variety of great tones. Beats my Ibanez 55 hands down. What is limited by the pots can easily be made up by my amp.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Special Electric Guitar:
This guitar plays great. Sounds great. Good sustain. The frets are well dressed. The Duncan Design pickups seem to have a little more grunt than the Alnico 3s and 5s. This one weighs 7.6 lbs vs 8.8 lbs for the CV 50s Tele. This color and Jazzmaster neck adds subtle cool. The butterscotch tint is transparent, showing a pleasing bit of darker grain in the basswood. The only change I made was to add an ashtray just for pics. I know the street price, but this guitar is worth the MSRP.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Special Electric Guitar:
I love this guitar. As a Telehead, I was always skeptical about Squiers. I took a chance on this guitar based on the Jazzed design and above all the price. The only complaint out of the box was the standard 9's set up.. That's an easy fix. Within two days of receiving this guitar I was using it on stage. In fact, although I take an arsenal, this is the only one I have been using live. I did make three modifications, but these were personal choice and not things that needed to be "fixed". I did replace the bridge with a brass compensated for intonation purposes. In addition I replaced the three way switch with a standard Fender and put a SD Hot Jazzmaster pickup in just to get a bit more depth. The stock parts were fine. I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone. It sounds as good as my other higher priced and extensively modified Teles. I am very happy. Fit and finish are great.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Special Electric Guitar:
I have been very pleased with this guitar. It actually came set up pretty nicely, but unfortunately, it was laced with 9's from the factory, which seriously impair its tonal quality. The pickups seem to be well balanced between each other and sound great. I like the Jazzmaster pickup in the neck for that fat single coil, surfy sound, and the Tele bridge pickup does what it should, poors on the spank. The electronics, although mini pots work well, and have a good feel. The switch seems solid. No complaints thus far.
This is loads better than my prior affinity tele and will soon become one of my main players, second only to my Sorento. If you are looking for a funky guitar that adds something special to the classic tele configuration, this is it. I like to think of it as an Esquire with a Jazzmaster pickup drop in.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Special Electric Guitar:
Well after 50 years of playing bass and guitar. I am finally convinced that Squire makes a great product for a fantastic price. 2 years ago I wouldn't have given you a nickle for the Squire brand but after purchasing a couple modified vintage squire basses and guitars, I am a happy owner and like what I see and hear. Quality construction and good workmanship right out of the box. This guitar the Modified Vintage Telecaster with the old 70s Strat-Style (large) headstock is a keeper for sure. I also love the butterscotch look.
Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Special Electric Guitar:
If you are in the market for a Fender you have to try this guitar. I played the other vintage modified Strats that were there and they were equally impressive.
Build this Vintage Modified Tele in Mexico and slap a Fender decal on the headstock and it is now a more expensive guitar. Save yourself the time and buy 2!! I will be using this guitar in the studio and onstage for sure.
Call it a Jazzmaster neck if you want, it's a fat "c" shape Strat neck with a Tele radius with perfectly manicured frets. The Jazzmaster pickup oozes vibe for days, this was what drew me to this guitar in the first place, but the bridge pickup is no slouch either. It has twang and growl, I wouldn't change either of them, great single coil sound. The vintage style brass barrel bridge is a great plus and transfers the string vibration well. A ton of upgraded features that work well!
This is where I was really blown away and what sold me on this Tele. I kept hearing that Squier was doing great things with the Classic Vibe series but honestly I have been a traditional guitar snob. I own a dozen pro level Gretsch guitars and have had several custom shop Tele's in the past. I just happened to stop by my local music store as they were hanging this on the shelf for the first time. It caught my eye and I had to take a look at it. The fit and finish are every bit as good as the Baja Tele on the shelf next to it!! The frets are perfect, the neck pocket is tight, the pole pieces are lined up perfectly with the strings, the guitar is balanced and feels great. The super thick poly finish actually feels pretty good and the blonde ash finish was spectacular.
Come on.....it should be illegal to offer this much guitar for the price.....I just ordered a second in butterscotch
