An iconic body shape, bound quilt veneer maple top, and vintage style Music Man designed tremolo bridge.

The Sterling by Music Man AX30 uses a vintage style Music Man designed tremolo bridge. The pop-in arm is adjustable for tension. Bent steel saddles and the signature look of the MM bridge all add style and class to this version of the classic Axis model guitar.

The AX30 also features a bound quilt veneer maple top, cherry sunburst finish, 2x Alnico V pickups, standard tuners, vol, tone and 5 way switch.

The Ax series of guitars pay homage to the classic Music Man Axis. The familiar iconic body shape is
exact. The 5 bolt neck joint, body mounted alnico humbucking pickups, bound quilt maple top, are standard for the AX series.

All Sterling by Music Man instruments are inspected and set up in Orange, California.

Bought this instrument as my main workhorse guitar for gigs two to three times a week. I am always on the go and needed a good sounding guitar that had a price tag comfy enough for me to be willing to move it around at this crazy pace. I play in a top 40s band doing all sorts of gigs. This guitar has great tone for all the stuff we play. The volume and tone controls cover enough terrain for me to go from old jazzy sounds to hard rocking modern styles ( I would not say it is ideal for heavy metal). The guitar is comfortable; the finish is top notch; electronics work Perfectly and quietly.Came with multiple fret buzzes but still playable. Perfect for tap techniques. Please note that if you are a fan of jumbo frets this guitar is not for you.. Frets are tiny which I personally like..

    Always been a fan of Music Man Axis guitars. Was surprised when a friend first introduced me to the Sterling line. After playing his Sterling AX3, I started looking and playing as many as I could. Finally settled on the AX30, and I have not been disappointed.

    The fit and finish is excellent, and comparable to instruments costing three or four times as much money.

    The pickups are decent for the price of the instrument. I will probably upgrade them sometime in the future, but for now, they are just fine for practicing and jamming.

    You can compare the Sterling by Music Man line with the Mexican made Fender Standards. Roughly the same quality in components and construction.

    Advise professional set up. Action on mine was a little too high, but this was easily corrected. Guitar comes with a very good gig bag.
