Three pickups, a long list of features and one amazing price.

The Silo3, a versatile workhorse, that’s easy to play, comfortable and sounds like a higher end guitar. The solid hardwood body is attached to the solid maple neck via a Music Man designed 5 bolt neck joint. The neck heel is contoured and rounded over for easy & comfortable access to the higher frets.

The double cutaway, contoured, hardwood body is fully sculpted and shaped for comfort. All sharp edges have been eliminated and you have just the bare essentials you need for a comfortable, solid body shape that never feels awkward.

The asymmetrical cut maple neck is slimmer on the treble side and thicker on the bass side, for effortless movement as you move around the neck. Thick enough for great tone, thin enough for easy playability. The medium sized fret wire is easy to fret and offers great intonation up & down the neck.

The pickguard is loaded with 2 high output single coils and 1 overwound humbucker which have clear bell like tone, but can also shred and emote all the nuances of your playing. A 5 way selector switch is wired to a single volume & tone control.

The vintage style tremolo bridge has a comfortable area to rest your palm on. The solid saddles offer adjustments for height and intonation.

Built well and plays well. The pickups are okay. The single coils sound flat and more like humbuckers. They lack the chime that good single coil pickup should have. Other reviewers liked the single coils and I feel they are poor at best(but hey it's a low cost guitar!). The humbucker is interesting though, it has a bright open sound but never tinny or piercing. It may sound close to the new Seymour Duncan 59 hybrid pickup. It lacks mussle though and may not work for people who need a high gain pickup. It does complement the single coils during switching and this is a plus. Add some low cost Tonerider single coils pickups and if still dont like the humbucker, swap that out too and you will have a nice guitar at a fair price.

Great guitar, especially for the money. Needed setup badly. But after adjusting the bridge height, it plays great. I bought it because I had played music mans with those great feeling necks, and this one feels great. Recorded with it 30 mins after I boxing it

Comments about Sterling by Music Man SUB Silo3 Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar well over a year ago and have since put about 500 into modding it so I would like to think I know the guitar itself, and what you can get out of it, pretty well. First off, I love the look of the guitar. I have the white one and have seen the tobacco sunburst in person and they are much better looking than pictures will give them credit, especially the tobacco sunburst. The neck is the best part of the guitar by far. It also has the most perfect sculpted neck heel that I wish every strat had. The body is comfortably contoured and light. The tuners are basic but they work well. The tremelo bridge is also pretty basic too and doesn't stay in tune too easily while using it, but isn't going to be too much of an annoyance. For my guitar, the frets were perfect and smooth and the fret ends are not sharp at all. I haven't even needed to work on the frets once since buying it, but that will change later. The pickups are nothing special as they are no-name sterling stock pickups. Expect the guitar to need a setup, mainly for the action. The single coils are rather noisy and the humbucker is a little weak. I may be unfair comparing them to rather expensive Seymour Duncan Pickups, but it is what it is. Thankfully they are one of the easiest things to replace on a guitar and should be replaced, if you have the money, to get the best out of the guitar. The bottom line is that this is an inexpensive guitar and is a great guitar for the money and an even greater guitar for upgrading. It can handle it's own in its vanilla form and is a great guitar for beginners because of its playability. It can also be used as a good backup guitar and a great main guitar once upgraded correctly.

Comments about Sterling by Music Man SUB Silo3 Electric Guitar:

I was expecting good things but was very disappointed. The one I bought was a customer return. I see why they returned it. The truss rod wouldnt adjust the relief that the guitar needed. The fret ends were very sharp and it wouldn't stay in tune. Maybe the tuning issue was due to poor strings but I will never know. The nut at the low E string had a very small chip and it would have caused issues in the future with the string popping out. The single coils sounded ok but the humbucker was very weak. The guitar itself looked amazing. Maybe I just got a bad one but for that reason I couldn't recommend this to anyone. A Squier Bullet out of the box blows the Sterling away

I wasn't sure what kind of quality I would get at this price point, but I wasn't disapointed. It plays great, good in distortion or clean. Also it's light so you dont get the heavy guitar fatigue in live shows. The tremelo can be adjusted to float and stays in tune very well.Seems the pickups may be a bit under powered, but doesnt hinder the sound in any great way..Bottom line? I'm gonna buy another one !!

Comments about Sterling by Music Man SUB Silo3 Electric Guitar:

I never do this but this guitar is pretty cool. As stated from other players it needs set up bad (remember it is cheap). The frets are sharp and the guitar needs adjusted. Also the pickups are pretty bad, I put a JB 59 in the bridge, hot rail in middle, and a 59 JB double stack in the neck. After making these adjustments this guitar is much better. The only thing I don't like is the neck feels cheap almost like laminate or something. However, for a total invest of a couple hundo this guitar plays better than most guitars at ir above its price.

Comments about Sterling by Music Man SUB Silo3 Electric Guitar:

I am the lead singer in a Rush tribute band, and recently we've wanted to add a second guitar to some older material. I did some research and, within my price range, this looked like my best choice. I am SO glad I took the chance on this guitar! I'll be honest, I'm not a full-time lead guitarist and I'm also not an equipment prude. If you are, I'm sure you could find some fault with this axe. I, however, have not. I have played a lot of guitars in my time, saving money and settling for Squires, Epiphones and pawn-shop second-handers. This time, I wanted something new. Even though Sterling is MM's "Squire" series, it is WORLDS above any other guitar maker's lower-end line and is even comparable to a few higher-end guitars I've played. The tuners are top-notch, the neck is a dream, the pickups are awesome, at least for what I need. Maybe you wanna change them...change them. I don't see a need. I went to set up the bridge when I got it, and found through my digital tuner that it was already dead-on for intonation. The looks are astounding, far more attention to detail than any other lower-end guitar I've seen. I'm not really sure where Music Man cut corners on this series, because other than not having a locking-nut tremelo, I can't see any. I would reccomend this to ANYONE looking for a guitar...especially if you're buying a gift for a new player. It's affordable for a newbie...but one they'll keep for a very long time. Well played, Ernie Ball...well played!

After initial setup and some eq tweaking on my pedalboard to adapt to the new output/sound of my new guitar (I previously used another strat style guitar), I was actually able to admire this guitar so much!!

The neck, although a Little beefy, after a while it became so comfortable to play, so smooth, the right spacing, the right action...wow...that's by far the best part of the guitar.

Regarding pickups, they actually sound pretty nice, no mudiness at all. My only complain is that I feel the humbucker a Little weak in comparison to the single coils, but of course that can be easily fixed, but for now, it totally Works for me. I had always dreamt of having a Musicman guitar and now I finally can get a Little flavor of it!! marvelous guitar!! Totally recommended!!
