I wasn't an acoustic player for a long time because I couldn't find an acoustic that felt right to me. This guitar's neck and action feels much like the Les Paul I grew up playing, so when I came across it in a store, I simple couldn't put it down! Played $2500 other acoustics that I would not trade for this guitar! I think it sounds great plugged in and unplugged. Very comfortable and natural feeling guitar in my opinion. Wish it had a built in tuner, but planet wave had a mini headstock tuner I leave on it and it works great. Excellent guitar! No regrets! Has a rich brighter sound then a lot of acoustics I've played which I like from an unplugged guitar.

I'll start out by saying that I don't own this model, I have the EF261 SBL (virtually the same guitars) but I found it used about 1 year ago for 225 bucks!!! I even got a hardshell case with it. It was in nice condition. I use it all the time. I play mainly punk/rock or alternative music (old-school green day, all time low, relient k, switchfoot, etc) but this thing fits everything from classic stuff to contemporary christian. The only reason I gave it a 4.5 on features is because the pickup is really hot on mine (mostly only when you have the 3-band EQ turned up) but it sounds really warm plugged in, and with the right tone dialed in, you can get that sound you want. Mine was made in 1994, so it doesn't have the built in tuner (i just use a clip on). But I love it! I drag it all over the place with me and it holds up better that good to all the abuse I give-Takamine is right. They are the hardest working guitars in the business! Buy it if you have the money!

I bought this guitar in 1998 and It sounds better every year! Ive never had any work done on it, and dont need to. I'm a working musician and it doesn't get better than this little one as far as I'm concerned. the only other guitar I've played in the studio is a 62 gibson when i want some major twang! I highly recommend this guitar

Great guitar. I've had mine for almost 4 years, and it's great. Great plugged in, but unplugged it's pretty quiet because of the body size. It's really made to be plugged in. Like i said, my guitar for life, but i'll probably get a dreadnought or jumbo-body eventually for unplugged stuff.

I have owned this guitar for about 8 years now and enjoy everything about it. Beautiful looks and sound. Great tone and volume for a smaller-bodied guitar. It especially shines when played through a quality amp. Great value guitar.

I own this guitar and its tone is excellent. If you have the money to buy it do so. I was lucky to pick one up for a third of the actual retail price but I would have paid in full had I not looked around... Great guitar and I've had other Sante Fe models to including the ESF-40c the guitar that Howie Day plays. Its just as good.

I looked for months, played at least a hundred guitars, and knew this was the one the first time I strummed it. It has a fairly bright sound that complements my friend's Martin very well.There's no pick guard, so if you plan on using a pick you may want to invest the few dollars in a clear one. For me, I don't think any sort of colored one would work--it would detract from the guitar's already rich color and finish.My only problem with it was that the action was set very low--which made it very easy to play--but it also had a bit of string buzz. A simple set-up fixed it.I really love this instrument!
