I play a blues style and this guitar has a better bottom ending sound than the Taylor's and Martins's which are more of a bright sound.
I love the pre amp. good strong sound when plugged in.

My Daughter has a Taylor 414 , she is a recording artist and when she played my Takamine she also loved the way it sounds and plays. Very happy with this guitar.
Great looking guitar. I was looking for a certain sound that wasn't bright, more on a deep sound.
Happy about everything about this guitar. Right out of the box. No setup needed.
I think it is a very good guitar for the money. It is made in Japan and inspected in the USA by Kaman

I picked one of these up last week and was happy with the sound quality. It plays well right out of the box.I have been playing guitar since I was 13 yrs old and I am 54 yrs old now. I have tried other high end acoustics already and feel this is the best one for the money. I had a Martin D 35 that sounded great but I had problems playing it because of the thinner neck. The neck on this guitar just seems to be perfect for me. I am not one for electric pre amps I feel they change the natural sound of the guitar. I will most likely buy a Sunrise pick up in the future. But over all the guitar sounds great. the open chords ring.If you are into finger picking maybe you should look elsewhere. The dreadnought body takes me back to the 60s & 70s sound that I love. I am happy with this guitar and havent picked up my Strat in about a week

Just recently purchased this guitar and what a joy it has been since I took this guitar out of its top shelf case. Additionally I purchased a Roland AC-33 to play this beauty through. Never could I have dreamed the quality of sound this combination would be capable of making. With Wide Chorus selected and taking the Lt.& Rt. Line outs from the AC-33 and connecting to my Stereo PA creates the highest quality Electric Acoustic sound I have ever experienced at half the cost of a Taylor or Martin of the same quality. Takamine has hit a home run with this guitar. Thank you!!

Received my Takamine EF340SCGN last week. Wonderful sound and tone, and very easy to play. Beautiful to look at, too! The fret ends and the nut are a little sharp, but it's a minor fix, and for the price this is a wonderful guitar.
Comments about Takamine EF340SCGN Dreadnought Antique Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Great guitar! Easy to play and has a Martin sound without the Martin Price. Cedar top has a warm and full sound due to the grain pattern. An old time look , but a new time feel. The price is to low for a guitar of this caliber. Very stage worthy.
