I have owned the EF341SC for three years now and have performed over 150 gigs with it. It is a quality, pro instrument that was made for the stage. The preamp sounds great live and the built in tuner is invaluable during a show. The three band EQ helps the guitar finds its place in a live mix well. There is a reason pro players like Springsteen, John Bon Jovi, and numerous other players use this guitar on stage - great tone, great playability, quality workmanship. It is not a 'recording' acoustic, though you could do that with it. I've had several high dollar acoustics that sounded better unplugged, but this is a stage guitar. It was made for the stage and the pro player and excels at that job.

I guess it is okay to like a guitar because Bruce and Bon Jovi plays it. But as a hard working guy who knows that These do commercial successes have at least 100+ guitars who cares what they like? I played this guitar when it was last on sale and passed on it. I like the EGC531SSC better for half the price. Yes this guitar has the flashy binding and cedar top but it should have something for the price. To me it plays good, sounds good, and looks good and there are a lot of good guitars in this price range. This one is not special in my book.

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The only negative thing about the Takamine EF341SC is I didn't get one sooner. It's the only guitar I use on stage. The electronics are top notch and sounds great through my Peavy Ecoustic amp or the PA.It's a beautiful instrument and plays like a dream.I had to tweek the neck a little, but I have never bought a guitar that I didn't have to tweek. My Taylor is still my favorite unpluged.

EF-341SC

By Tucker

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've had my Takamine EF-341 for 25 years now. The guitar gets better with age. Over the years, I've had to put in a new pickup and electronics but not because of the manufacture malfunction. I strum kinda hard and hit my palm on the bridge as I strum, so I broke the pickup under the saddle. I have many other high end guitars but none are like this one. mine is really worn looking, has pick stratches all over it and buckle marks. The frets are needing replaced and its still my favorite. I had this guitar long before alot of the big name singers was using them so I'm not basing my opinions on them. This is just a all around great guitar.

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've had my EF341 since 1996. Mine has no cutaway which makes it rare I think. It is one of 3 TAKS I have owned. If you perform, BUY ONE. I use both EF341 and EF381EC (12). I don't need the Eagles or Bruce or Toby Keith to tell me anything I don't already know. For the money, it's the best sound and look and feel you could ever ask for in one guitar. I have a real job, but I play my TAK in clubs FOR MONEY every weekend. This guitar rocks.

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have owned my EF341 for 9 years and I love it. It has a great sound and it plays so easy. I can't say that it is better than some of the higher-end Gibsons or Martins that cost thousands of dollars, but I will say that there is nothing even close to the price that can compare to the sound and feel of this guitar.

I keep getting convinced

By Anonymous

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've owned the EF341SC for about three years and every year I go down to the guitar store thinking "wouldn't it be nice to get a new guitar?", yet when I sit down with a Martin or a Taylor or a Gibson I find the sound just doesn't compare with my Tak. Every year I get convinced all over again that the EF341SC is just a great great sounding guitar and a tremendous value relative to other guitars. My highest praise, unplugged or plugged in.

I have to admit this guitar caught my attention thru JBJV. Read about it and decided to check it out on the web. Did not intentionally look for it but happened to find it at the guitar store! Was so thrilled and decided to try it out in the store and ... there i went, bought it just few minutes later. I also replaced the pickup to Cooltube. Am happily & proudly using it at my weekly gigs and events and it never disappoints me once.

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is the best guitar I have ever owned. I prefer it to anything I have played at music stores as well. I personally like it better than any Martin or Taylor I have tried. I've had my Tak for 7 years and, what can I say, it's just fabulous. The tone is an absolute dream, it tunes perfectly and stays in tune FOVEVER (it seems), and the action is amazing. I play rhythm and lead guitar and often use this guitar with a crunchy distorted sound (through my effects pedal) and it even sounds great like that. Of course I use it for several clean sounds as well and have never been dissapointed in anyway. I don't know what else to say...I would encourage you to try it for yourself. One more thing...It's fun to see so many professional artists using it...Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Toby Keith, and so many others. I didn't know so many big name people liked this Takamine when I got it...I didn't buy it BECAUSE of that, but I can see WHY THEY LOVE IT TOO.

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have played this model of guitar for exactly 20 years professionally.. I have three of them now... YES, three of the exact same model since I perform professionally and need to have guitars at the ready for multiple shows... the original one I bought in 1995. I have tried other guitars and nothing compares to the combination of sound, electronics, and price for a professional grade guitar for stage... There is a reason you see this specific model played by so many celebrities... It is a true workhouse for live performance... Yes, it can be mic'd for studio, however you may find other models more ideal as obviously its painted which does change the natural tone a slight bit... but for live applications.... this is the best choice... period.

I have owned this guitar for 19 years. This thing gets better every year. It has a great neck. I've played mine so much it looks like it has ditches on the fretboard. All the frets are pretty worne. About five years ago I had to put a new equalizer in it. I had the old three band eq with the battery inside. I switched it over to the eq with tuner built in it. I've played many guitars over the years and depend on this more than any other. You wont go wronge with this one

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The quality of this guitar is topped by no other guitar out there. This guitar is so well made, you can feel and see the care put into making it. The sound unplugged is fantastic. It just pops right out and rings forever. The deep sound is super, and the high end just as nice. The setup right out of the box was perfect. Fast action. I would like to say that the onboard tuner is great, but I do not have to use it often as she never go's out of tune. Plugged in the guitar sounds just as good, if not better. Last but not least, the black is super. She shines...the picture does not do the real life look justice.

        EF341SC

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

So after buying and selling/returnig 2 gibsons and 2 taylors I have found the perfect guitar as long as it is plugged in. Unplugged it hasn't much volume. But plugged in it has a prefectly even volume on all strings, is easy to play ( after a little work on the saddle), the fret board is smooth and dense. I absoutly love the sound and playability of this guitar. I'll stick to my Martin for unplugged enjoyment though.

        from Sturgeon Bay, WI

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Just got this guitar, very pleased so far. Not as bright or punchy as my Martin but is more fulfilling when playing cords plugged in. My Martin has more of a deep rich sound plugged in (more bass) where as the Takamine EF341SC is more controlled and even sounding. It puts out a different sound than my Martin so its just me getting used to it. This is not a negative review by any means. Just had my first gig with it last night and I'm very pleased with the sound and great overall sound control from string to string. Cords sound great!! For the price, best guitar on the market guaranteed!!!

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I just had to chime in on this after frustrating myself with trying to find a better guitar that my old Takamine EF340SC (I think that's what it is). I've owned mine for over 15 years now. Takamine had, in those days, come out with their palathetic pickup system and it was HOT among those who knew their stuff. I played in a rock back with this thing for 10 years, spilling at least a couple of beers on it, and never had a single issue with the pickup or preamp. Most importantly, to this very day, I have never heard anyone get a better plugged-in tone than mine. If you keep your strings fresh (and I mean change them for every show), don't use those coated strings, and EQ to get enough of those unnatural sounding mids out, you will have an attack, brilliance and clarity unmatched by anything I've ever heard - including Taylor's Expressions systems, which is saying something. Add a little reverb and play through a good clean PA with more power than you need, and you'll see what I'm talking about. For my tastes, I like to take out a LOT of the frequencies around 1000K to get rid of that unnatural electric pickup sound and some of the 250K to clean up the rumble a bit. Tweak the low end for the disired warmth and WOW. Oddly, I find I like the delicate sound of extra light strings, too, and they're much easier to play demanding songs on. These light strings seem be affected more by stage noise, so a soundhole cover was always a must for me with the full band.

        By Randy

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Really nice guitar! Ordered as a gift, and with the 2 day shipping it came early, even with being just before Christmas. It also came with a nice case! Plays really nice, high quality like you would expect for a high quality Takamine, very easy to play, was bought partially because Takamine's have such good playability. Good sound, both I and the receiver really like it and would definitely recommend takamine's. I have the Takamine legacy koa, and I love it, This one has a deeper tone than the koa, because of the different body styles, but both are great!

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar about 3 months ago, and it's been a pretty good buy. The only complaints I would have is an occasional buzzing, and a tendency for the low E and A strings to get drowned out in full body chords. It sounds great plugged in and has a beautiful, full, rich sound. Highly recommended! A pretty good price for such a high quality product.
