Just recently bought this guitar b/c it was on clearance. The quality of the guitar is amazing. It is quite a bit smaller than I thought it would be. The slim body makes for poor unplugged sound. It just doesn't get much volume or range. When plugged in, it is awesome. It has one of the best and most versatile preamps I've ever seen. If you play plugged in, buy this guitar. Otherwise I prefer my Ibanez for unplugged play.
Excellent guitar for the price. Great tone specially when plugged in. I love the fact that it has a built in tuner. The construction makes it look so beautiful and so comfortable to play.
i have owned this guitar for over a year and have no complaints. its a solid feeling guitar that has a awesome tone compare to other high end bands such as Gibson and Martin. i mainly play solo gigs, but have played with a few bands. great guitar!!
I just bought this guitar a few days ago, it's my first guitar. I'm not a great guitar player, I like to play the guitar to relax. I originally got the guitar to play it mainly as an acoustic so I have yet to plug it into an amp. Unplugged though it sounds amazing. (I'll tell you better than the sanded down, 4-string Yamaha that I was borrowing from my girlfriend) I can't wait to plug it in when I get my amp. I love how small the body of the guitar is, it's so comfortable when your holding it, it doesn't hurt your right arm when your strumming. The beauty of the guitar is unbelievable. The only thing I have to say that's negative is with the glossy black you can see every finger print, every smudge, and every little spec of dust. Other than that this guitar is a must have.
I've owned one for about 5 years and I love it. The only problem is that the pick-up died after about 2 years but I rarely plugged it in so I didn't care much. A great guitar though.
I am a fan of emo and punk rock, and this is the best non-electric guitar I have ever played. I've played things from Clapton to Iron Maiden and it sounds great either way. The built in tuner is awesome and a nifty feature. If you want to avoid paying thousands for a Martin or Taylor, buy this guitar!!!
I bought this guitar - great buy, I love the guitar!!
I went to a local store on a Friday night and it caught my eye. Played it for a while and somehow it had the "it" factor that we guitar strummers can sense. Went out the next day to another store and out of their array, the only other one I found to be similar (perhaps a notch better) was a Martin slimbody, but alas it was about $250 more. They didn't have the Takamine so I went back, bought this beauty, and have been strumming it non-stop. Lovely, rich sounding guitar. You'll be hard-pressed to do better at this price. PS I also acquired a Roland GR-20 and they work togther like two peas in a pod. I'm in guitar/synth heaven!
I really had my mind set on buying an ovation until i saw and played this Takamine. I mean it played so well i couldn't pass it up. Although mine is Natural Finish, it still looks just as good as the gloss black. This Guitar sounded awesome whenever i plugged it up to my Churches PA. I would recommend this guitar to anyone. And you can't beat the price. The only thing i found wrong was it has a lot of feedback, which isn't a big problem, considering most acoustic-electrics do have problems with feedback. BUY THIS GUITAR!!!
