The ESN10C Acoustic - Electric Dreadnought Guitar is a special version of the famous "Natural Series" and features a Sitka spruce top with a light satin finish for exceptional acoustic tone.
Built on the popular dreadnought platform, the Takamine ESN10C acoustic-electric guitar features a cutaway design, adding comfort and range when accessing the upper-register frets. The top is solid sitka spruce, giving a broad dynamic range to its sound and allowing for everything from aggressive strumming and flatpicking to fingerpicking. The back and sides are mahogany, adding projection and definition to the sustain. The mahogany neck is strong and durable, and the rosewood bridge and fingerboard complement the dreadnought's clear tone. Other luxurious appointments include a double-bridge saddle, bone nut and saddle, natural wooden rosette, two-way truss rod, scalloped bracing, dot inlays, and a light satin finish.
At the heart of this Takamine is its CT4B electronics section. The CT4B preamp is designed for ease of use and purity of tone. It consists of three bands of graphic EQ tone control, a volume control slider, and a built-in chromatic tuner. The desired tone is dialed in by using sliders to add or subtract frequency response as desired. The built-in chromatic tuner is extremely accurate, very easy to use, and capable of being calibrated to frequencies other than standard A440, so your Takamine ESN10C guitar will stay in key—whatever that key happens to be. To facilitate silent on-stage tuning, the tuner's power button acts as a mute switch when the guitar is amplified.

I am a serious hobbyist and was looking for a solid new deadnought guitar and did not want to spend a fortune on it. I wanted solid build quality, excellent playability, great acoustic tone and solid electronics and I found all those features in the ESN10c. It is extremely well built and very clean. Not a single cosmetic issue inside and out and the set-up out of the box was excellent. The tone of the ESN10c is very balanced for a dreadnough, good bottom end (but not too boomy), excellent mids and clear highs. Intonation up and down the fretboard is spot on to my ear. Like all Takamine guitars it is very easy to play and I play both flatpicked and fingerpicked tunes on it with ease (although the string spacing is a bit tight if you were only a finger-style player). The scalloped-bracing, solid-top, and very light satin finish makes for great tone. Overall, I have been completely happy with this instrument and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cutaway dreadnought.
