OVERVIEW

The fullness of a quality dreadnought for a great price.

Built on the popular dreadnought design, the Takamine EG530SC acoustic-electric guitar from the G series is a louder, more powerful-sounding instrument. The dreadnought has been the most popular and widely recognized acoustic guitar since its creation in the 1920s. Its broad top and deep body create a large resonant chamber that emphasizes bass response and provides a great deal of volume. This design excels in ensemble playing and is heavily favored by flat pick players. The solid spruce top offers balanced tone, while the sapele back and sides bring out plenty of projection. The dovetail neck joint, rosewood bridge and fretboard, and mahogany neck offer plenty of sustain, and the asymmetrical neck and 1-5/8" nut width provide comfort for intricate fretboard movements.

At the heart of this Takamine guitar is an impressive electronics system, letting you amplify your sound with intuitive frequency controls. The CP-100 pickup is an innovative pickup design over the conventional under the saddle piezo design. It uses a U-shaped aluminum rail, securing the pickup and saddle for a snug fit and balanced response from the instrument, not just pressure on the strings. The Takamine TK40 preamplifier features volume control, bass, middle and treble frequency slider controls, EQ bypass, a notch filter, tuner and a mid contour switch.

The Takamine EG530SC guitar's chrome hardware, chrome tuners, and gloss finish adds a striking touch to this already beautiful instrument.

love it

Comments about Takamine G Dreadnought EG530SC Solid Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have owned this guitar for 6 years now, and have played it almost daily. It sounds and plays better now than when it was brand new. It is only the second acoustic guitar I have owned. I learned to play on a really low end guitar and quickly outgrew it. This is the guitar i should have bought 1st as it is much easier to play than my first guitar was and the sound is 1000% better. I have played many high end guitars including my fathers martin d-28 and Will not say that my takimine sounds better than these guitars but it does play just as well and the sound is comparable particularly when pluged in. I have carried this guitar all over the country from key west to gatlinburg it is a very durable guitar never any issues. I would recomend this guitar to any one. I have two guitar students that have bought one after playing mine. There is not a better guitar for the money anywhere. Buy one now

Comments about Takamine G Dreadnought EG530SC Solid Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

When I went out to buy an acoustic guitar I played all the high end guitars I could and then looked for the closest sound to those that I could afford. Without a doubt this guitar was it. It sounded every bit as good as those Taylors and Martins both plugged and unplugged. You don't have to take my work for it. Try it yourself and you'll see. I let two of my friend try it for themselves and the both bought one. These guitars are amazing and very affordable. Hope you get as much pleasure out of yours as I have.

Great and only gets Better!

Comments about Takamine G Dreadnought EG530SC Solid Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I started playing over 8 years ago and after playing for two years I was ready to upgrade from the starter guitars. In Grade 10 at the time and on a tight budget I went shopping with my Uncle who has had a Martin D35 since the 70's. We both played them all and believe me when I say that it was the best axe for the price then as it is now! It has only sweetens with time and it has grown with me through many styles of music. The spruce top gives that great Martin sound as without really monitoring the humidity I have had no problems in our harsh weather of Saskatchewan which often destroys guitar tops. The electronics are great and Tak has been an industry leader in Acoustic Electronics. I play live regularly now and this guitar gets it done!

Great for the Money!

By Dan-PVDkI

Comments about Takamine G Dreadnought EG530SC Solid Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar about 4 years ago and I'm very pleased with it. I performed in bands for about 11 years back in the 80s and 90s, mostly as a bass player/rhythm guitar player/vocalist, so am not an expert on guitar. But I've found this Takamine to be a good buy for the money. It plays easily and has an outstanding acoustic sound. When plugged in, it takes some work to get it to sound good, which is the only real issue I've had with this guitar. But if you're looking for a mid-range-priced acoustic/electric, you won't do much better for your money.
