Takamine

Big, meaty chords, plenty of volume, and outstanding balance, in a stunning spalted maple appearance.

The Takamine G Jumbo EG523SC Acoustic-Electric Guitar is endowed with great internal air volume to deliver sound that matches its name. The top profile curves hint at the pleasing tonality delivered by the jumbo guitar design.

The Takamine EG523SC jumbo's tonal spectrum is enhanced by its dynamic range. From aggressive chord comping to gentle finger passages, the G jumbo responds well to the subtle, and not so subtle demands that might be made of it.

The guitar's spalted maple top back and sides offer balanced tone full projection and a killer appearance. The dovetail neck joint, and rosewood bridge and fretboard offer plenty of sustain. An asymmetrical neck and 1-5/8" nut width provide comfort for intricate fretboard movements.

At the heart of the Takamine G Jumbo is an impressive electronics system for amplifying your sound with intuitive frequency controls. The CP-100 pickup is an innovative pickup arrangement with a U-shaped aluminum rail securing the pickup and saddle for a snug fit and balanced response from the guitar—not just pressure on the strings.

The Takamine TK40 preamplifier is equipped with volume control, bass, middle and treble frequency slider controls, EQ bypass, a notch filter, tuner and a mid contour switch.

The G Jumbo's chrome hardware, chrome tuners, and natural gloss finish add a striking touch to the already beautiful Takamine EG523SC guitar.

Overall:

Everything about this guitar is great, from size, playability, to tone.  I purchased this guitar as a gift for my daughter and she absolutely loves it.  The finish is superb and the entire guitar appears to me to be of the highest quality artisanship creation.  I am thoroughly impressed.  The hardshell case that comes with it is even superbly designed and manufactured and is of the utmost quality.  I can find no bad things to say about this guitar.  The built-in EQ and tuner are user friendly and function flawlessly.  Hopefully I can get my daughter to chime-in with her review having it and playing it for 1 full year now...  I find it to be an exceptional quality piece.  I give it 2 thumbs up!
