Takamine

Flamed maple top, back, and sides give this strong NEX guitar a stunning appearance.

The Takamine G NEX EG440CS Acoustic-Electric Guitar has a flamed maple top and a pleasing, rounded profile that's narrow at the waist, yet broad behind the bridge. The Takamine signature NEX guitar design creates a soundboard that offers a balanced frequency response with deep bass, clear treble, and a sweet, round midrange that projects quite well.

The body carries the depth of a dreadnought to ensure a great level of volume. The guitar's cutaway provides plenty of range and comfort when accessing the upper-register frets. The flamed maple top, back, and sides offer full tone, clear projection, and a gorgeous look. The dovetail neck joint, rosewood bridge and fretboard, and mahogany neck offer plenty of sustain. An asymmetrical neck and 1-5/8" nut width provide comfort for intricate fretboard movements.

At the heart of the Takamine NEX guitar is an impressive electronics system amplifying your sound with intuitive frequency controls. The Takamine TP4T Preamplifier features a gain knob; tuner; active shelving system EQ with bass, middle, and treble frequency slider controls; and a low battery light. The preamp is switched on by plugging a standard 1/4" mono instrument cable into the endpin/strap pin jack. Unplugging the cable switches the preamplifier off. The TP4T Preamplifier is powered by a single 9 volt battery.

The G NEX flame maple's chrome hardware, chrome tuners, and gloss finish add a striking touch to the already beautiful Takamine EG440CS acoustic-electric.

Takamine G NEX

Features:

It's simplicity at it's best, an onboard tuner and easy to adjust balance system for great sound when plugged in. The tuner works great but tells you which direction to tune rather than how flat/ sharp your pitich is (which won't take long to get used to).

Quality:

The quality is amazing Takamine puts a lot into the guitars they put out. I bought mine at a store so it was already set up but after having it I can tell I got a great quality guitar it has a nice rich low end and really helps support vocals. The electronics are amazing and rival acoustics with Fishman pick ups in them it has a IMPRESSIVE sound plugged in.

Value:

I would say this guitar is a great value it's amazing an well worth more than four hundred dollars, but never the less if you want a rich sounding guitar with great looks this is it and it's priced low.

Overall:

Compared to other guitars of it's size the G NEX seems quite (not significantly) but I am willing to be it's because it has a darker tone to it than most guitars of it's size.  The guitar has amazing sound and it rivals some of the more exprensive guitars my friends play, great electronics, great tuners, great looks, and great value. This was my first personal acoustic and I would definently recommend it to players beyond beginers as a great mid level guitar for the working up and coming musician.

Aztec Chris

Features:

A lot of volume comes out of this guitar.  It has a big rear end, so the lows are fantastic, but don't drown out the mids and highs.  Built in electronics are great, including a tuner.  Sounds great unplugged and electric.  It comes strung with D'Addario 12s.  Like the sound a plability of Ernie Ball 11s better.

Quality:

Appears to be built really well.  Action was perfect right out of the box.  I've had it for three years now, and sounds better and better the more it ages.

Value:

For an acoustic-electric, this guitar sounds as good or better than much more expensive guitars.  It is very affordable.  I thought I would want a more expensive guitar the more I played, but this is all that I need.  I play almost every day, and a lot of that has to do with how much I enjoy this guitar.

Overall:

For an affordable guitar, the sound, plability and quality are fantastic.  Buy it - you won't regret it.

Overall:

For the price, this thing plays like its worth twice as much. It stays in tune really nice. Most of all it doesn't sound cheap like most guitars this price. This sounds like a quality, made of wood instrument

Pretty Good Guitar

Overall:
I've had this guitar for about 6 months now. All I can say is that this guitar is very reliable, fun to play, & feels good. However, the on-board tuner on the guitar can sometimes get confused & will sometimes automatically turn off while using it to tune. Also, the first month I had the guitar, the nut had broken so I suggest getting that changed, along with the strings. Other than that, this guitar is pretty great!
