Takamine EG440SC

Comments about Takamine G Series EG440SC NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Fit and finish is great. Intonation is perfect. Intonated saddle is a plus. Neck is bound in rosewood. The Solid Spruce top adds to a nice sound. Factory set up is well done. Frets are level and well dressed. If this guitar was made in the States it would cost you $1500 or more. For an acoustic/electric with a price tag of under $500 you cannot go wrong.

great

Comments about Takamine G Series EG440SC NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar about 10 months ago and have been playing it non-stop ever since. I don't want to pick up my electric anymore. It sounds good and every one else agrees. I love the tuner but it stays in tune well. The action was a little high when I took it out of the box but It adjusted down great. almost too low. I'm not shitting you, it's a great deal. people that see it think it's worth more than it is. I can't wait to ware it out and get another.

sounded great out of the box

By gbrock

Comments about Takamine G Series EG440SC NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I recently purchased the Takamine G after being disappointed with a higher end hollow body electric. Did the cash in trade out, and am quite pleased with the Takamine. Tuned it up, and played it right out of the box. The acoustic sound is a little on the treble, twangy end, not as deep, or with the volume of the dreadnoughts, but the electric is crisp, loud, clear, and a pleasure to fire up. I could have a played a gig the first night I had this guitar. Controls are simple, and straightforward, and the look is nice. The neck may be a bit narrow for some who like a wider neck, but the close action is easy on the fingers. I may get a set up down the way, but certainly not needed at all at this point. Strings/action is close, with no buzz, and may replace the strings after a few weeks. I own some nice guitars, as well as pawn shop specials, this is a good deal for the money, and even got a hard shell case for this keeper.

You can't find a better guitar for the money. Beautiful instrument with a very nice sound. Would rather play this than my Martin D-41. You won't be disappointed.

Comments about Takamine G Series EG440SC NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a amazing guitar, comes with plug in capabilities, on board tuner, and a overall great sound. First off this guitar is beautiful with the mother of pearl outlining and dots this guitar is a beauty. Next the strings are amazing it comes with great quality amazing sound (they're heavier strings then most). Most importantly THIS GUITAR SOUNDS UNBELIEVABLE this is easily comparable to a Martin No doubt if this guitar is in you budget you must buy it.

Great guitar for the money

Comments about Takamine G Series EG440SC NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is really good. It has a nice sound acoustic or plugged in. The back and sides look really pretty when you look at them just right. The whole guitar except the fretboard is clear coated, so it should last for a while.

Great guitar for the money

By Julian-Cxsn1

from Wellington, New Zealand

Comments about Takamine G Series EG440SC NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar the other day, and so far, I have no regrets about this purchase. The guitar looks and plays like a dream, although I think I might get the action lowered a little. I like the finish of the body and neck especially. I don't like the glossy/painted finishes of some guitars. The 'natural' finish provides less friction on the next while playing, and generally feels nicer to me.I haven't had a chance to use this plugged in extensively in a live situation, but from what I have experimented with, its plugged in sound is more than suitable for my needs. I almost went with an Ovation, as one of my needs was a guitar to play in my band, but I discovered I can't really sit down with Ovations without them slipping off. This guitar fit the bill very nicely. Recommended!

The Best There Is ...

By MetalMan13

from Newfoundland

Comments about Takamine G Series EG440SC NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have not been playing the guitar for long, but I know my grandfather has of decades. His G Series is the best acoustic on the market, I borrow it for all my live gigs (over my fender). And he personally told me he will never buy another guitar for the rest of his life. You can easily play tough power chords like a B Chord, with this AMAZING fretboard. The cutaway makes every fret playable, amazing harmonic response, stays in tune. This IS the best acoustic guitar you can possible buy ... PERIOD !
