The Takamine EG450SM NEX Acoustic-Electric Guitar boasts amenities not regularly found in this price range. Built on Takamine's original NEX body design, the G Series EG450SM presents a silky balance to the tone that supports vocals beautifully.
The Takamine NEX body is a scaled-down jumbo guitar at heart. The top has a pleasing, rounded profile that is narrow at the waist, yet broad behind the bridge, creating a soundboard that offers a balanced frequency response with deep bass, clear treble, and a sweet, round midrange that projects well. The EG450SM gutiar's body carries the depth of a dreadnought to ensure a great level of volume. The NEX has the feel of a small-bodied guitar yet yields impressive performance, and is an excellent accompaniment to the singer-songwriter, or the finger-style player.
The Takamine EG450SM starts with a solid spruce top, offering balanced tone from top to bottom. The beautiful flamed maple back and sides shout, thanks to the guitar's upper midrange punch, bright highs, and tight lows. These qualities allow the Takamine EG450SM to stand out in a group setting. The symmetrical maple neck and 1-11/16" nut width adds comfort for those intricate fingerboard movements. The chrome tuners keep precise tuning and the rosewood bridge and fingerboard provide lasting sustain. Other Takamine appointments include dot inlays, abalone rosette and a gloss sunburst finish.
At the heart of the Takamine EG450SM acoustic-electric guitar is an impressive electronics system, amplifying your sound with intuitive frequency controls. The Takamine TP4T preamplifier features a gain knob; tuner; an active shelving system EQ with bass, middle, and treble frequency slider controls; and a low battery light.
