OVERVIEW

Excels in ensemble playing and is heavily favored by flat pick players.

The Takamine EG530SC-BF Dreadnought Butterfly Guitar features a solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, a rosewood fretboard, a TK40 onboard preamp, and a gorgeous butterfly motif.

The dreadnought body style was created in the 1920's to meet the demand for a louder, more powerful sounding guitar. The dreadnought has been the most popular and widely recognized acoustic guitar shape ever since.

The dreadnought guitar's broad top and deep body create a large resonant chamber that emphasizes bass response and provides a great deal of volume.
The TK40 preamp gives you a tunable notch filter and switchable midrange contour.

dead as a door nail

Well first off I don't have the butter flies but it is the same guitar. Once the newness wore off the strings I found that the sound was pretty dead. Plugged in it sounds fine although if I get within 6 feet of my amp and I have the electronics on the guitar turned up much the feed back is terrible. For such a beautiful guitar it doesn't have much tone to it. And the string pressure is hard. I must have been drunk at the guitar store when I bought it.
