Great Price. Great Guitar.

Comments about Takamine G Series G128S Classical Guitar:

Do not let the price of the guitar fool you. The tone and resonance of this guitar are well beyond those of much higher value. I am a student studying music in college, and I figured it is time to upgrade from my old Dean Espana. After a long period of research I came across this gem. I have recently sat down with it, and it is nearly impossible to put down. Don't let the image on this site fool you, the solid spruce top is has a lovely dark look, and the east indian rosewood back and sides are dark, but not solid black. The guitar is gorgeous, sounds wonderful, and at this price is impossible to beat.

The action on this guitar was a bit too high for my taste. I did some short research and thought that I could adjust the action by adjusting the truss rod. When I twisted the truss rod right, it lossened. When i twisted left, it tightened. A little backwards. However, DO NOT adjust the truss rod to fix the action. I sanded my saddle down about 1/16 of an inch, and it is perfect now. No buzz from adjustments, lower action.

Classical Beauty

Ask me a question

Comments about Takamine G Series G128S Classical Guitar:

I've had my Takamine G128S since 2008. I initially bought it because I thought I might like to play classical guitar (obviously), but soon discovered virtually unlimited applications of it. My music usually leans toward melodic death metal, and anytime I need a good acoustic sound, an ultra-clean lead riff or a nice harmony to put some extra body under a synth line, the G128S is my weapon of choice. It has the best action of any classical or acoustic I've played, and the solid spruce top gives it a resonance and sustain that makes it sound ten feet deep. For your equipment-buying dollar, whether you're into classical, Spanish or just general acoustic or rock music, you'll not find a better investment.

Excellent guitar

Comments about Takamine G Series G128S Classical Guitar:

I got one of these a few months ago it has a beautiful loud sound, it came with a very nace dark color not like in the picture mine looks like honey color smells amazing it comes with some nice golden tuners with white perloid ( plastic in real ) nuts, chocolate rosewood bridge, fretboard back and sides with some black inlays, I upgraded the tuners to golder and black rosewood nuts it looks amazing now! the only problem I had it theres was a bubble in the botom of the guitar like a bubble between the wood and the lacker and you have to adjust the bridge nut cause the action is just too low that buzzes, the neck has a tuss rod inside, you gotta buy this guitar you

A great Buy

Comments about Takamine G Series G128S Classical Guitar:

My Takamine G Series G128S Classical Guitar was a great buy for $299.99. The action is very nice for a mid-range guitar. The D'Addario Pro Arte strings it came with where a bit weak so I I added a set of D'Addario Pro Arte EJ45 3-D Silver/Clear Normal Classical Guitar Strings. Now it's sound if very rich. If you want to upgrade from a beginner guitar, you wont be disappointed with this choice.

Fine instrument...

Comments about Takamine G Series G128S Classical Guitar:

I have a Takamine G Series G128S Classical Guitar on layaway at a local guitar shop, and I'm going in on Tuesday, December 4th, 2007, to get it out. I've gone by at least once a day for the past few weeks to "visit" it and play it, and it has the best sound I've experienced under $500 thus far, plus it's a Takamine, so I know it's a guitar I can trust.

A fine instrument for the price...

By Bob-muxW8

Comments about Takamine G Series G128S Classical Guitar:

I recently stepped into the G128S for the first time at a local guitar shop, and it plays like a dream. The string spacing is excellent, especially for those of us with stubby fingers, and allows very intricate patterns and surprisingly good sound projection for the price range. I'm purchasing it in about three weeks, and I believe it's a worthwhile investment, particularly for some just getting into classical guitar, who is on a budget and/or is looking for something fun to fiddle with in their spare time.
