Taylor

An affordable dreadnought with a solid spruce top and Taylor ES-T electronics.

Tone and playability are hallmarks of Taylor guitars, and you’ll find the 100 Series delivers plenty of each. The 2012 110ce Sapele/Spruce Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar has a solid sitka spruce top and sapele laminate back and sides. It also features a Venetian cutaway that helps with the upper range while the ES-T pickup primes you for plugging in.

Tonewood
As a guitar soundboard, or top, Sitka spruce is the tonewood standard of the modern era. It’s used on 85-90 percent of the guitars that Taylor makes. Its combination of strength and elasticity translates into a broad dynamic range, yielding crisp articulation and allowing for everything from aggressive strumming and flatpicking to fingerpicking. Sitka spruce is Bob Taylor’s personal favorite for an all-around great guitar.

Dreadnought (DN)
The Taylor dreadnought is a focused guitar with plenty of presence, recently redesigned to be even more assertive. It’s the traditional choice for the traditional player; the model to drive with a heavy pick.

Taylor ES-T
Devloped by the same Taylor team that invented the Expression System pickup, the Taylor ES-T Under-Saddle Transducer takes piezo technology to another level. Optimized for the 100 and 200 Series, the system features onboard Bass, Treble, and Volume controls plus custom-voiced EQ and dynamic response.

Comments about Taylor 110ce Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

There are 2 problems with Taylor instruments that no one seems to mention.

    1) Not all of them are American Made
    2) Most of them have a bolt on neck

Actually all Taylors under the 300 series are imported from Mexico. And if you look inside your taylors sound hole and lift up the sticker under the heel of the neck, you'll see 2 screws holding your neck to the body.

Just think, you're paying that amount of money for a bolt-neck, import acoustic. For that price you could look at other guitars with better features such as a set neck or better electronics.

Comments about Taylor 110ce Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar because a needed an intermediate level guitar that would last me a long time. After reading several reviews, and watching countless YouTube videos of this model in action, I decided the Taylor 110ce was the way to go. This guitar was "used" but once it came in the mail (double boxed and safely in his Taylor gig bag!) just a few days later, I couldn't find a single mark on it.

I had called before ordering and spoke to a Customer Service Rep who looked up the specific guitar for me to see what kind of "signs of use/wear" could be found, he told me very clearly what he could about the condition and was very helpful.

If I ever decide to upgrade again, I will certainly be ordering from Musician's friend - the overall customer experience I have had is unlike any other. Whether it's price, customer service, shipping, or quality, Musician's friend has it all.

Comments about Taylor 110ce Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar a year and a half or so ago, sounds great! I've played side by side with other guitars that cost a couple thousand and wasn't wasn't impressed by them. The guitar sounds great unplugged and plugged in. Has simple pick-up controls, a knob for treble, bass, and master volume. It generally stays in tune very well, with only some minor adjustments if you haven't played in a few days.

The only real negatives I have to say is it's not that great for playing melody, it's more of a strummer. When you play some more complex melodies or fast scales the guitar seems to not be great on playability, maybe it's just me. The only other negative I have is that the wood is VERY easily knicked. There have been times where the side of my pick might lightly bang on the front of the guitar and it leaves a visible mark. However, it's really only visible to you and the people in the crowd can't notice it at all.

Fantastic guitar! I'm looking forward to handing this down to my kids one day as their second guitar!

Comments about Taylor 110ce Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I played this today, and it sounds very nice. Keep in mind, that this is in the 100 series, so those guitars might not be that suitable for the very frequent performer. It was really a good experience going in and trying a few different Taylor guitars today. This one just sounded more "tinny". Otherwise, it is the best starter guitar anyone can get!

Comments about Taylor 110ce Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am a composer and mostly write music for TV and commercials. After so many years looking for the ¨Right¨ Electro-Acoustic Guitar finally i got to the Taylor 110ce. In fact one day i just decided that i wanted a new guitar and i went to a music store to get a Taylor, because i always wanted one of this guitar. Then, i a try this one and it really blew me away!. This guitar pops out so much air pressure that it really stands on it´s own!. In fact, before buying this guitar i tried many different guitars of the same price range and the timbre and sound never came even closer. This is simply a $1500 plus value guitar at a lower price, period!.

Comments about Taylor 110ce Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

(Acoustically) I love this guitar so much, I pick it up and never want to let it go. It has the most beautiful wood I have ever seen on any of my guitars. This guitar has so much power, yet doesn't have so much of a low end, which I really love to death. It just surprises me that I have finally found a guitar that I really love. The only thing I don't like is that there isn't a gloss finish, so my hand gets stuck on the neck at times. Otherwise, this is an awesome guitar for beginners and professionals alike.

(Electrically) This guitar surprises me, with it's transferable abilities. It will take the gorgeous sound of its acoustics, and will reflect it at your gigs, while on the P/A system. This really is the perfect guitar.

What a great guitar. I picked this up and played a set at church the following day. The difference was huge. The sound this guitar brings is top notch. I couldn't ask for a better playing and sounding guitar. The price is fantastic. You get every penny you spend in quality and then some. More than anything else, this guitar is just fun to play. Taylor writes that it would be a good second guitar, but this is easily my first pick going forward for any set that I play.
