An affordable entry into the acoustic world of Taylor.
The Taylor 114 Sapele/Spruce Grand Auditorium Acoustic Guitar will change your expectations about what a serious entry-level instrument can embody. Featuring a solid Sitka spruce top and laminated sapele back and sides. The 114 has the signature Taylor guitar look, tone, and feel—in an affordable package.
As a guitar soundboard, or top, Sitka spruce is the tonewood standard of the modern era. It’s used on 85-90 percent of the guitars that Taylor makes. Its combination of strength and elasticity translates into a broad dynamic range, yielding crisp articulation and allowing for everything from aggressive strumming and flatpicking to fingerpicking. Sitka spruce is Bob Taylor’s personal favorite for an all-around great guitar.
Grand Auditorium (GA)
The GA is Taylor’s most versatile and popular shape, excelling at light-touch fingerstyle to full-blown strumming. Great for mic’ing and recording, the GA’s balanced mid-range and bright tone exemplify the Taylor voice.
Includes gig bag.
Grab an acoustic guitar that will satisfy for years to come.

Comments about Taylor 114 Sapele/Spruce Grand Auditorium Acoustic Guitar:
I purchased this guitar as a backup for my 714 that I could help my young cousins learn on. The sound quality totally surprised me. This thing sounds great! It has terrific volume, sustain and punch. I have always played rosewood guitars but this opens a whole new sound to my ears. The neck is of course very playable and responsive to the pick as all Taylors I've tried.
As advertised and everything needed for a quality sound and easy playing.
I cannot find a single flaw. Satin finish is excellently applied. This guitar is built with the same attention to detail as my Taylor 714 CESD. There was a slight finish roughness on the neck which cleaned up with ooo steel wool (just using it would have worked also). The precision of the neck and neck to body finish was perfect and the action was just right out of the box.
I don't know if you can buy a guitar this well made for any less
